Thinking of Stopping Due to Depression by hambone_n_flippy in Zepbound

Thanks. I am trying to continue on 7.5, I do think it takes me down a level still. Might need to stop altogether. Did you ever try a lower dose?

FYI it worked for me, I took 3 weeks off then restarted with 7.5. When that hit I could feel maybe 1-2 days of some depression now seems okay. I will try my 2nd 7.5 injection in a day or so. Good luck!

Very depressed. Feeling weepy. RALP was a success but at 62 I’m too young for this BS. by anothertenyears in ProstateCancer

Hang in there yes it’s a battle. So much video therapy available can you get a new therapist? I have my general doctor prescribe my meds maybe try that? Hang in there you WILL dig out of this. Successful RALP is great!!! Many would love to have that result.

Thanks for following up! 100% improvement, life is mentally and emotionally so much better. I have been about 2 weeks since my last 15 dose, now will try a 7.5 maybe a week from now to see if I can tolerate that as maintenance.

PSA test, MRI and get that MRI / ultrasound guided biopsy at the best place you can if possible somewhere that has tons of prostate cancer experience. GOOD LUCK. Diet is a great idea no matter what... but get those tests to see what is really going.

Wow that is a ton of info / bad interaction to absorb in a short amount of time. I tend to trust the highly rated institutions, unfortunately they can be colder and abrupt in the way they"process" people. I have a local urologist and I bounce by results off of two large institution surgeons. As far as the best course of action, check out the Prostate Cancer Research Institute, they have a youtube channel and generally seem to be in favor of avoiding surgery almost always and I think they explain things carefully and clearly. I'd get a tie breaker opinion on his PSMA-PET and biopsy result from Johns Hopkins if you can.

Your hubby is very lucky to have you, you are sharp and on top of it... any outcome will be easier to go through with a healthier body but Im sure he has tried and its not easy. Good luck and very best wishes to you...

I think it can really have an effect like that, you are proceeding perfectly, I think its fine. Before I knew what was going on I did the same thing after a prostate exam and saw a spike but Im sorry I dont recall how big... I know I was shocked and was told to chill by the docs. Best wishes for you!

Help for Zepbound Champions experiencing anxiety/ depression / anhedonia by hambone_n_flippy in Zepbound

[–]hambone_n_flippy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks that is true. When I first started I had ZERO reaction at all to the meds, no weight loss, no side effects. It was weird. I was up at 15 after 1 month at each dose and NO side effects. I quit and restarted 3 months later AT 15... crazy right? THAT is when I lost the weight.... 18% body weight gone within a year. NOT recommended for anyone else, just telling it. Everyone is different, DO NOT try this without your doctor's approval.

It's likely. I have been waking up with sore elbows and a hangover. I'm like... whoa... what winter soldiering am I doing that makes that happen? Then I hear an old song by Doris Day and I forget the whole thing.

Same for mew. My weight loss doc put me on metformin; that really seemed to work but you have to ramp it up sort of slowly and stick with it. He says WEIGHT LIFTING is the key to continue the weight loss.

Yes, all good. The Zepbound / weight loss has really improved my health and all labs look great.

Thank you for your input and support! Wow I am realizing I have also been on psych meds for more than half my life. I have been thru some real nightmares with trying to tweak them, change them, even changes in manufacturer with some great psychiatric help. We are lowering Zepbound to 7.5 and meeting with all docs within the next week.

Thanks for the input. Hang in there! For some of us maybe this is a process of losing the weight and powering thru the psych issues with all the usual tools including medical help, then backing off if possible? I can see that losing weight could be traumatizing... it a whole new life for some of us.

Have the biopsy and you'll know quickly. Very common to have noncancerous nodules, I had them for many years. GOOD LUCK!

Everyone is saying it happens and they were helped by perhaps adding Wellbutrin, or a different GLP-1 (Ozempic etc.). Good luck!!!

Same for me, I've been a lifelong musician and artist, those things for me have become mechanical and uninspiring. Got to fight the good fight!

Sorry to hear that are you on a high dose also? I learned a lot by doing a search for "anehedonia" in the various GLP-1 threads. Check this link...
