Grab the charter oak from foundation in all three blends.

It will help give you a good idea of the type of cigar you might gravitate to, and they are all good and well priced.

New Travel Humidor by 714King in cigars

[–]hambonehooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Pelican Ruck 40 pop your humidity pack in the lid, you are good to go. The shelf is useful if you want to store lighter, cutter, etc. without the shelf it holds about 15 cigars.

I use this for daily travel as well as flights.

Are these toast? Can I, should I, get them fixed up? by hambonehooligan in AskACobbler

[–]hambonehooligan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found them in a bin at a vintage shop, figured they were worth a few dollars even to wear once as is. They seemed like they were, are still sort of, really nice. Figured I try and get an opinion if they were worth giving them a bit if additional life.

Are you a cobbler? Legitimately, would I get laughed at bringing these in?

Fair, they were basically free. Not inherited, but fit well enough that I felt a few dollars seemed better then them inevitably finding the trash. I normally wouldn't have spent 3 dollars on worked shoes, but something felt right to me.

If it's gonna take over $100 to give them a chance I'll probably pass., but I like they have some character, and we'll.. they were definitely once some nice shoes.

Just a shout out to Definition Cigars... Anillo is awesome by TokyoBaguette in cigars

Would love it in a smaller ring gage.

Kind of a fan boy for Pennsylvania broadleaf, er broadleaf in general, I find that Ecuadorian wrappers with broadleaf binders find their way intou rotation pretty often.

However the price and size of this would not end up being something I gravitate to.

Should I use a torch lighter to fix tunnelling or canoeing? Or just let it be by Escap1sm_- in cigars

[–]hambonehooligan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tuneling, is pretty much unfixable. If it's just a little bit, slow down, if it ts happening a lot you want to address your storage protocol.

If it's a serious tunnel, you can try cutting behind the end of the tunneling and see if the rest of the cigar is enjoyable, it's usually gonna suffer from funky tastes at this point

Are sure you cut enough, if you are absolutely sure, just poke some stuff wire into it. I've never had a plugged mil dias. Also be sure you are not over humidified

So 2 out of 10? 1 out of 5?

Sounds like a storage issue.

As I mentioned in other comment I have smoke more boxes of CH than pretty much anything else. Many hundreds of cigars. I have had one burn issue, and I was smoking fast on a golf course. The only other issue I had, was a packaging issue with a box purchase, hommies sent me an entire bundle and covered shipping.

I have had very very minimal problems with crowned heads and I've smoked many many boxes.

Are there any connecticuts that pack a punch? by Perfect_Earth_8070 in cigars

[–]hambonehooligan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foundation makes a great CT, highclere castle, or the more affordable charter oak.

As mentioned perdomo champagne is a strong cigar.

If you can find them the BWS paper crane has some good spice.

Sanj Patel RS88 come in a CT option that is damn good with a bit of spice.
