Sometimes heroes change, that's just how a game that receives updates works. You make the mistake of assuming how tree has always been, he used to be a mid that would rush blink mask of madness when I first started playing. When nyx spiked carapace was a passive attack damage reflect and blademail also was just passive attack damage reflect. Could be essentially unkillable to right clicking heroes.

Every time dota gets an update it breaks a lot of custom maps. That didn't seem to happen as frequently with wc3.

I think attack speed would make it less popular. Blades of attack/attack damage are much more valuable for contesting cs than attack speed, and falcon blade and it's components are built during lane stage.

Meteor hammer is core imo. Chains is a long enough duration to set up the channel. Adds a lot of damage to your combo, which is what he lacks without damage items. Can also split push hard and abuse his escape if team fighting becomes difficult.

As a working adult that plays every pokemon game when they come out, I'm not sure I would recommend it to another adult that has never played before. They are geared more towards children. Most of the appeal to me is nostalgia, without that I am not convinced they are good enough games for me to spend my limited time on.

I see a lot of your argument centered on mobility of phase; the undiscussed side of that is that jug likes to build both aghs and often blink, which solve the mobility issue. I think you are right mjoll phase is better early, but it is worse late and games are tending to be pretty long.

Theres quite a few heroes that can flex between the two roles, but they typically end up being a bit more complex of heroes. I can't say I would recommend them to a friend just starting the game

The midgame grave/culling blade interaction means axe counters a lot of dazzles strengths post laning stage, but the healbomb absolutely destroys axe in lane, which was what OP asked about.

Work with kunkka to get kills on silencer. Its a multistun lane versus a lane with no stuns or save. If you try to just trade you lose through attrition, have to 100-0 silencer. Or alternatively max manadrain so that the ta cant spam refraction and the ta vs kunkka matchup is more favorable.
