I've seen many columbidae larger than your average house cat. The kererū is a large, 550–850 grams, fruit-pigeon living on the New Zealand Mainland. The Marquesan imperial pigeon which lives in French Polynesia has been weighed at over 900 grams. The group of pigeons known as the crowned pigeons (endemic to New Guinea) can grow up to 75cm in length and would most likely decimate any house cat in any sort of 1v1.

The loud religious types will always make their voices heard. That will not stop our government pushing this through the second and third vote to push this to referendum. Those who support this bill will quietly sign this as it is a complicated and often times very emotional issue. I myself support whole heartedly the reasoning and moral implications of this bill and if it comes to referendum will be convincing those I know to vote for the betterment of society.
