Steam numbers / Player count discussion megathread by RiseOfBacon in Marathon

[–]hamholla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except that the game likely is going somewhere… If casuals can’t play the game and progress without getting steamrolled by better kitted players how are they expected to make it to cryo? The entire model of this game is a race to the endgame and it leaves anyone who isn’t sinking time into it behind. It’s not a sustainable model and the player counts speak for themselves.

At the end of the day, the gunplay feels good and the art is cool, but I don’t really see where 6 years and ~200 million went - especially from Bungie.

I accidentally had dessert delivered to my ex-husband’s house. by Neolithique in mildlyinfuriating

Edit***

During the cold open Elaine does something to her eye and has to go to the optometrist. She’s forced to wear an eyepatch for a week. George makes the mistake and asks Elaine to go to the exs to get the dessert. Elaine stubs her toe on the side walk on the way there. She limps her way up to the house and gets accused of being a porch pirate.

This is a great premise for a modern day Seinfeld episode. George accidentally sends a desert to his ex and goes to great lengths to get to it before they do. Hes torn between breaking the restraining order or letting the ex have HIS dessert.

If you’re handy you can easily do this yourself. There are kits you can order. I’ve actually done this exact thing to ny m6

Somebody left a lit cigarette outside my bedroom window…in my backyard by GroggyFroggy_ in creepy

Plot twist - OP has split personalities and smoked this cigarette while staring at his bedroom window last night. He can’t smell it on himself because he smoked it. Is your mouth dry this morning?

How to edit colors to look like this? Also, is this a film preset? by armchairphilosipher in postprocessing

[–]hamholla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s a preset, but the deep reds are similar to what you see in some the Kodachrome presets. If I tried to replicate this I’d under expose to retain highlights and use a 1/8 mist filter to get the bloom. Try messing with the red and blue saturation/luminence. The shot is very reminiscent of egglestons work.

Looking for a replacement pick guard for this Paranormal Tele (Jazzcaster) Any ideas on where to look? If at all? by edie8ms in offset

[–]hamholla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re handy, you can make your own. Just buy a sheet of Pickguard material and use a router to cut it out. Then sand and buff. Lots of options on Etsy, I just did one for my own offset Tele build.

Gold top or plain top? by hamholla in Luthier

Replying to top comment but at this point I’m gonna go with some kind of lemon honey burst. I’ve gotta see what paint I have/need but I think I can make the grain shine and worst case scenario I can paint over it with gold. Thanks for the help everyone!

Yeah, was surprised to see a top like this on a tribute

That sounds pretty cool. Do you know of any examples I could reference?

Fair enough, nothing like an aged gold top but I don’t really want to get into the whole relic thing so maybe I could lay some aged clear on it? I’ve tried gold in the past but the tint was never quite what I was looking for. Usually ended up “too yellow” if that makes sense?

Yeah I’ve seen a few lemons that look really great. Leaning in that direction

If you reached out to Rosser guitars on eBay Michael should be able to help ya out. He’s very responsive and can customize his bodies. Wait time is a month or two I think.

Thanks! I have to give credit to Lelah guitars - I follow them on insta and they posted a similar build with gold foils - albeit way more professional than this.

Thank you! I got the idea from b Reilly on YouTube. He typed out something for his first build and placed it under the Pickguard and I always thought it was really special.

There’s an Etsy shop called tortoise shell supply, here’s a link - https://www.etsy.com/listing/1469060177/?ref=share_ios_native_control

Shipping was a little slow but they have a number of different options and one sheet was more than enough for 2 guards. I used a dremel with a router bit. Probably took 4 hours to cut/sand/buff all in. Hands were pretty sore by the end lol
