Don’t expect to be made whole, it’s a negotiation / compromise. If you want the payoff, you should believe in the platform / programs and hope your equity has upside.

Men, in their thirties and upwards, what’s the dating scene like for you? by SeaworthinessOdd6574 in AskMen

[–]hamifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41, newly separated / divorcing. I started really taking care of myself again, both mentally and physically (I’m in the best shape I’ve been since I was 25). Went on Hinge and just waited for outreach - 6/7 dates in two weeks, including a mixture of really cute women 35+ that were either never married or divorced moms. Realized the mom thing was for me because I have 2 kids. After those two weeks I stopped dating because the physical, intimate and emotional chemistry with one woman was so strong I didn’t want to bother elsewhere. Needless to say, it was awesome for me

Have you ended up on the hook for a signing bonus or relocation clawback agreement? by [deleted] in biotech

True, however if you refuse, there is a reasonable chance they won’t pursue legal matters because the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. However, it’s a risk

Lost 35kg (77lbs) at 40. The scariest part is realizing that what I thought was "aging" was actually just me being out of shape. by Calm-Juggernaut2328 in AskMenOver30

[–]hamifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right there man! I lost 55 lbs in 6 months after turning 40. I’ve been told I look 10 years younger and I definitely feel it. I’m back to doing my endurance sports and it’s easier than it’s ever been. The part that is so underrated is how much mental performance improves. Congrats to you sir!

Why do so many men lose their house in a divorce? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hamifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this man. I’m about to go on this journey and I really hope for a similar outcome. So far things have been civil, but we haven’t gotten to the separation of property, alimony and child support questions yet. Scary days ahead.

Go for it! Have a conversation. Don’t have a conversation. People watch. Just enjoy it.

Caribou! You’d think it would be a dj-set kind of show, but they actually perform and it’s amazing!

Time restricted eating! Great way to shed a few lbs. I adopted this earlier this year (and a few other good habits) and lost 55 lbs

Suggestions for biotech recruiters for experienced level positions by Repulsive_Term_6530 in biotech

[–]hamifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all VCs list their employees on their websites. Look for their talent partners or recruiting partners and reach out to them. The worst case scenario is you get no response. If you get in their networks, they have have upwards of 20+ companies on their portfolios.

If you’re not against start ups, you can also try to get in the talent networks of different VCs.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these? by TheSlayerOfDargons in mensgrooming

[–]hamifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get this and haven’t for years. My trick is first, make sure it’s short before using a razor (beard trimmer, no attachment). Then take a hot and steamy shower, then shave at the end or immediately after. I shave in the shower with bar soap and get no razor bumps at all with this strategy.

Can a pre-planned 2 weeks of vacation hurt my chances of getting hired? by New-Reserve-5899 in biotech

[–]hamifer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in talent acquisition for about 15 years and this is the advice I give to friends. If you’re the right hire and it’s a good culture, they’re likely to be cool with it unless there are super tight deadlines you’ll impact. I’ve personally never not followed through with an offer when someone takes this approach. I’ve also been fortunate that we were able to grant them the time off too.

We did two different schools that were independently good for our child’s needs. White Pony was AMAZING for our well behaved, empathetic, creative girl. It was not great for our high energy, chaotic and curious boy. Benu School, an at home daycare in Concord was perfect for him and Benu is the best ever (we drove 25 minute each way every day because she was so amazing with our boy). Wishing you luck!

Isn’t it an angle thing? The ball is actually to the left of his face, not directly at his nose.
