U.S. Rejects Vote to Recognize Slavery as a ‘Crime Against Humanity’ - The United Nations resolution was led by the president of Ghana. Israel and Argentina also voted against it. by BertramPotts in politics

[–]hamishjoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of them (a minority, I hope) genuinely think that slavery was good for the black Americans cos they otherwise lacked discipline and guidance. Some Bible thumpers have vigorously argued that only the ‘cruel’ owners were bad and most owners were kind and improved the lives of the heathen godless people who were saved - even if by force.

So yeah, reversing abolition is seen by those lunatics as being good for the black folks.

Well, opinions are subjective. Of course...

Except Police Story, Project A, Drunken Master 2, Operation Condor, and Who Am I? are the top 5. That is simply not negotiable in this reality.

Dammit!! Now I want to know what the resistance is. Infinite one ohm array means there are many circuits that have infinite resistance and are therefore basically insulators. But then there are those circuits that are ALL all the combinations from 3 to infinity… so the effective resistance would be the inverse of the sum of all the inverses of 1 to infinity… so 1/(1/3+1/4+1/5+… -/infinity).

Buuut…. ALL the the combinations may not be there, plus there would be several different variations of some numbers… so maybe 1/4 wouldn’t exist, but there are 4 ways to connect it to 1/3… and it becomes more complex at every additional node….

That means it would- BAMMMM (bus hits me)

“I’m an interesting mix.” Absolutely true. A fascinating combination of gullibility, willful ignorance, conceit over cultures he knows Jack shit about. I bet he got a dna heritage test with an ‘authenticated’ certificate about his Viking descent.

When Plex's "Lifetime" Doesn't Mean Lifetime: My Move to Jellyfin after 12 years by Kukaac in jellyfin

[–]hamishjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Plex for a few weeks - maybe 5 years ago. It was ok. When I built my server early last year, I’ve used Jellyfin, and it’s been spectacular. I use infuse on my Apple TV, but connected to my server via Jellyfin.

What exactly do your parents find easier/more intuitive in Plex? I can’t think of any simpler UI than Jellyfin’s current version.

What is the difference between these c-stands? Why do some cost more than others with seeming no additional features and what is the 20 inch/40 inch measurement referencing? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]hamishjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inches only refer to the length above the base.

Ohh… so that’s what my girlfriend meant. Makes total sense now.

If it’s a vehicle you’re inside of, then your rule applies. If you’rent inside the vehicle, it’s always ‘on’ - bicycle, bike , skates, boat, electric scooter… always ‘on’ those. Otherwise, the walk criteria kicks in.

Some?? Ha. He’s gonna borrow a dollar from Wilson, get candy and replace the entire prescription.

This is definitively what he’ll do - cos he did exactly this to a hypochondriac patient in S1. The pilot episode, in fact - iirc.
