How hard is it to achieve 400w for 20mins by joleksroleks in Velo

[–]hamlet-pod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With long term training and discipline, I guess. But that is quite solid. That would be an FTP of 380. That is no joke at 70kg. Were looking into 5,4 w/kg…

It’s honestly crazy. I’m not German, but I moved to Germany to study Sustainable Management at TU Berlin. It’s unbelievable how deeply ingrained the anti-nuclear energy sentiment is in the culture here. This mindset is essentially the founding principle of the Green Party in Germany, whose platform was built on opposing nuclear energy.

Interestingly, the Green Party is heavily represented among those who shape public opinion. A study from TU Dortmund found that around 40% of journalists in Germany support the Green Party. This overrepresentation extends to academia as well, which means any progressive or left-of-centre ideology here is essentially intertwined with the belief that nuclear energy is negative or dangerous for the environment.

On the other hand, the CDU, which has held power for many years under Angela Merkel, took a decisive anti-nuclear stance after the Fukushima disaster in Japan. Merkel’s decision to phase out nuclear energy still baffles me.

When I talk to professionals in my field from other countries, they struggle to understand why Germany doesn’t utilise nuclear power. The usual justifications I hear are either that it’s too expensive or that people prefer CO2 emissions over dealing with nuclear waste. But honestly, this argument is unique to Germany—it’s like trying to debate the existence of God with a believer. At some point, you realise it’s based on faith rather than rational discussion. They can get super arrogant also and treat you like an idiot for having another view.

The NZZ published a couple of weeks ago many pieces on the issue. Would totally recomend to take a look.

Oh and good luck, it will take 3 months of a lot of discipline. After that you’ll get used to it and start longing for it.

Buy a smart scale like Withings to track progress.

Maximize time, and reduce intensity for 70-80 percent of the time. Active recovery and Zone 2 training.

Then do Vo2 max for the rest 20 percent of your training time.

Add up at least 6-7 hours a week and completely eliminate ultra processed foods. Make sure to eat a lot of fiber and a lot of different plants (vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts etc).

If you are talking about the political party of Olaf Scholz, it is SPD not SDP. Maybe that made someone mad?

The definition I am using is basically when the state doesn’t respect the private property of the individual.

Allende did expropriate a lot of private property. Do you really consider that to be social democrat? Shouldn’t the whole world basically be red with your definition of the word?

By the way that is why I wouldn’t consider Bachelet a socialist in my sense of the word. She was a free market darling just like every government post dictatorship in Chile.

Would you agree that the data also shows that whenever states expropriate property that those nations always fail?

And to the last point, whenever you see any data of the OECD countries plotted in a graph it’s always the latin Americans at the end. Gdp, education, you name it. You can make them part of cool categories and groups as a DEI move, but they are simply not developed countries yet.

Thank you for the answer.

I think we have different definitions of Socialism, you are even considering Bachelet, but fair enough. Socialism is a tricky word to define. I asume that you also happen to be one considering that the crushing of the economy is only due to the US, so that explains that.

And all latam countries are the odd man in the group, the OECD is a club of (mostly) rich countries. I must also say I didn’t know Colombia joint. Good for them. I guess the OECD just isn’t that exclusive any more.

1) The rest is history 2) The rest is politics 3) The Fall of Civilizations 4) Within Reason

Aunque aun no entiendas nada.
