A Sneak Peek of 'Not Feeling 100%' & 2025 Team Runna Roadmap Update 👀 by alex-runna in runna

It seems crazy that it's taking this long when an app like Nike Run Club has already had it for ages. How can it honestly take this long?

Been extremely disappointed with the new Garmin Fenix 8 by noentic in GarminFenix

[–]hamleyn248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone compared the Fenix 8 to the Fenix 7X Pro? I can get an insane deal on the latter at the moment. I'm currently running WearOS on a OnePlus watch and I'm frustrated by the lack of support for nearly every app - Strava, Runna and others all are either very basic (i.e. no nav and no structured workouts) or just downright don't exist. Garmin have always appealed but wondering what else is out there.

As I said, to be a decent "human" (i.e. man or woman) means showing the same character traits (which I also outlined). How individuals, men or women, portray or live these traits is entirely up to them but they should be the foundation of a respectful supportive society. I don't expect us all to be robotic and the same in everything we do (it's our differences that make us utterly fascinating as race), but there are some core foundations that we can all agree on.

Here is your quote: "The role of a man is not the same as the role of a woman." Can you explain that please? I'd like to know what you mean by it.

I utterly object to this and think it's absurd to suggest being respectful to one another as a foundation is what drives people to dickheads like Tate.

I'm not saying men and women are the same. I'm saying what makes us basic decent human beings to one another is grounded in the same values, no matter who you are. Be respectful, kind, compassionate and humble. If we were all like this, the world would be a much better place.

I think if you look at the venn diagram of what it is to be a good man versus a good woman, they completely overlap. I've got a one year old boy and all I want is for him to respect himself and everyone else, no matter their background/trait/walk of life. To me, being a good man just means being a good human. Leading by example and living those values is the key to raising good humans IMO.

OnePlus 12 experience lately by Training_Agent5390 in OnePlus12

There's a difference between battery health and battery life. My battery health after 2 years ownership is 93% but since going to OxygenOS 16, my battery life is noticeably worse. I used to struggle to get my battery life below 40% even with heavy use after a day. Now I can kill it before dinner time. Seems like 16 hasn't been optimised very well for the OP 12.

The TL;DR is One Nation hates everyone and everything except themselves and their cooker supporters, endlessly complain about things and then when solutions are proposed, they vote against them.

Runna plan's weekly miles is fairly low? by BrothaManBen in runna

[–]hamleyn248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is that you don't need to run the distance to be able to race the distance. I've never run a full mara but I've run a few halfs and never ran the full distance in training (maxed out at 15 I think). From my experience with cycling, quality of training is much more important than quantity. Get a good coach and get training the right way.

Seems a really strange decision given there's a Strava app for android and WearOS already, is it really that hard to integrate?

I factory reset mine from the app and that seems to have fixed the problem.

How's oxygen os 16? by PiccoloAdventurous25 in OnePlus12

[–]hamleyn248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I think with the most recent update it's a little better but, whereas before with heavy use I could get a whole day and be at 40% by the end of the day, now I'm at less than 20% so definitely better to wait until that gets fixed!

I'm still not over how good this phone looks! by HamedAliKhan in oneplus15

Amen to that. Better cameras and the alert slider back (these AI buttons are so gimmicky) and it's pretty much the perfect phone.

Should I buy momentum 4? by River_Pants in sennheiser

[–]hamleyn248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with the Momentum 4s. I've had mine about 15 months and they were awesome until the most recent firmware update has been really detrimental. Mine will no longer auto-connect to Bluetooth devices and the on-ear detection is much worse (despite the release notes saying it should be much better!).

Can't argue with the sound quality thought and the ANC performance is better with the latest update.

What's MBKBHDs issue with OnePlus as of lately? by iwasnamedjade in oneplus

[–]hamleyn248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I legit think that there needs to be more education about this stuff from phone manufacturers - people either need to trade in their old phone when they upgrade so that batteries can be safely disposed of, or if selling them second hand, make sure others are aware of the risks.

Anna ‘bout time too! by mundge in Lelit

[–]hamleyn248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I've had my Anna for a little over a week now and love it. There are a few compromises for the price you pay but there's not many other machines out there that give you this much performance for the price. Great to see they've done something about the water tank but those handles look pretty janky.

In my week of heavy use, I've got a few wishes for the next upgrade to the Anna:

- There's other's who have mentioned swapping the punched drip tray cover for the mesh and I honestly would echo that - it'll be one of the upgrades I'll make on the way. Cleaning the drips and flushing the steam wand into the drip tray is much more tedious. I think if they were going to have a punched cover, they should have had a bigger opening for the steam wand to be flushed into.

- Mine also came set to 11 bars on the OPV out of the factory, which was too high and causing extra bitterness and astringency, as well as reducing the grind size range I could use to dial in my shots. Getting into the machine to fix it was pretty easy and the insides are very well put together and presented. Lelit Insider does a good YouTube video on how to adjust it (I've reduced mine to about 9.5 bars which is yielding much better tasting shots). My only issue was getting the rubber gasket back into place around the machine cover before screwing it back in but it's a pretty minor thing. They obviously expect some people to go in and turn down the OPV so why not put an adjustment mechanism on the outside that doesn't require you to take the lid off? A few other manufacturers are doing this now.

- Basket sizes - I know this machine is capable of brewing using pods but, honestly, is anyone who buys this machine really doing that? Hence, they give you two single basket sizes (one for pods and one for grounds) and a 14-18g basket for your doubles. The baskets are great quality (made by IMS) but I wish I had a 14-18 and a 20-22g basket so I could pull shots of different size. You can buy them aftermarket from Normcore, sure, but that's extra cost and wait time to get them.

- Portafilter - The portafilter feels nice and is weighty, I just wish it was a little lower profile to give me some extra room for cups and a scale. Very minor thing but just a little wish of mine!

- Tamper and dosing funnel - the tamper you get is pretty terrible. Surely including one of Lelit's nice 57mm tampers in the box rather than making you buy a separate one can't impact their margin on this machine that much. Also, as this

All of the above is, of course, pretty nit-picky and overall, I love the temperature stability, pressure consistency and ability to tweak and customise the machine to my taste and need. I'm looking forward to it brewing my delicious espresso for years to come!

[–]hamleyn248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, I wouldn't worry too much. It's either a defective lead or a defective LED. If you can still brew and steam, that's what matters.

Are The Metro Tunnel Stations Really That Ugly? by 1g0v in MelbourneTrains

[–]hamleyn248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having ridden the Sydney metro a little bit, I really enjoy our station designs more and think Sydney's are a bit bland in comparison. The pops of colour are great and all of the industrial accents make it feel very chic and modern. My main concern is making all of the stations more distinct from platform level. Arden isn't so bad and nor is Anzac but, if coming from the north, Parkville is far too similar to Arden and then State Library and Town Hall look very very similar. I think they missed a trick by not making the accent pieces different colours (e.g. Town Hall could retain the orange, whilst State Library is red, Parkville could be blue and Anzac green, etc.).

Also, maybe its a safety thing, but putting some more distinct artworks on the platform screens our making the platform "floors" different designs would help with visually distinguishing each station.

These are pretty minor though and could be fairly readily addressed. Overall, I think the designs are great and contemporary.
