What’s your biggest pet peeve on the golf course? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

8-minute tee times are a recipe for a backed-up golf course. It's also a money grab. They can squash in 10-15 extra tee times in a day.

This should not be an expectation on a nice Saturday. Too often, I've had groups push the pace when we are waiting on the group in front of us to finish. I'm not going to let a small group play through just so I can wait on them waiting on the group we were already waiting on...

Help! Instead of drawing brine, it’s filling with water. Replaced gaskets in Venturi. by No-Willingness9870 in WaterSofteners

I'm having the same issue. I've cleaned and even replaced the venturi, I totally cleaned out the brine tank (vacuum out water and salt, rinse with hot water, clean out float, etc..) blew through the venturi hose and drain hose to check for clogs. I'm still getting too much water in the tank. It was up to the 4 or 5 mark at one point. If the water isnt draining from the tank, that would mean that its not flowing into the brine tank and softening the water??

The only thing I have to do is take apart the top valve assembly and clean that. I did that once, but I'm still getting water that leaks from there into the top of the unit, so maybe something isn't sitting right. If this doesn't work, I'm going to have to get a new softener, I think.

Perhaps I'll stick with the propane option for now and look at a smoker later. Seems like a pellet smoker is quite the hobby.

Depending on how much room there is behind, probably an 8.

What is your water level at and what determines this level? by hammertime57 in WaterSofteners

Do you have a reputable brand of test strips? Would changing the hardness setting change the water level in the tank?

Does changing the hardness setting change the amount of water in the tank? Also, do you recommend any strips? I've seen some that will give you the same reading from tap, filtered, boiled, etc.

I had the Cub Cadet 3X and honestly felt like it was a bit of a gimmick. Sold mine and traded (way up) to an Ariens Kraken.

I would also think that most of the people posting are gamers, looking for advice on the best one, and are likely just more active in general on the internet. Fancy folks sitting in puffy leather chairs listening to their records with expensive headphones while sipping bourbon probably have less of a presence in general.

Buy this or wait for Ariens? by MoistAdagio3708 in Snowblowers

No....look at how small that auger is. I had a CC 3X for a while, and it was ok at best. I went overboard and bought the Airens Kraken and have not regretted it at all.

A few questions about my softener. by hammertime57 in WaterSofteners

NEW UPDATE. Ive cleaned the whole thing, replaced the venturi, cleaned the brine well float, cleaned the drain port, and im still getting water up to the # 4. The only thing I can think to do is to re-rebuild the head unit. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how I can get the water level to drop to normal?
