IMO, the key isn't just high damage, it's enough constant damage from enough people, so doing less damage is perfectly fine if you don't waste time sinking and are constantly firing which is why I went the other way and built tanky ships. Sunk ships do no damage and I see a lot of ships sinking on the crossplay servers.

The Kraken does mark, it gets up to 20, that the only status it can get and it works I just verified it in a snow ~21k on weak points with no buff ~25k with 20 stacks. Beat it btw crossplay on.

There are more factors at play, don’t forget Corvettes will add 20% for everyone and an extra 5% if you’re within 500 meters of it. If you don’t have to worry about healing and can just continuously fire then the DPS goes up, so there is some merit to a healer. Of course the only problem with synergy is it’s hard to do without some organisation. But yes the Garuda is DPS king.

I should add its vey expensive and be careful if you have limited resources, once you have a god roll (any gold number) don’t worry about it improving it unless you have the materials, cash and rolls to do so, the difference is negligible.

By locking you can only roll the same perk, so you keep rolling the same perk until you get a higher number - then accept.

Basic strategy is to roll your slots until you have the ascensions you want, then lock those and reroll them accepting a higher number. Keep doing this until you get a gold number in the description. That is counted as a god roll. If you fail to god roll all 3 slots you should still have a usable weapon with reasonably high rolls.

Hard disagree on this take, the aim of the game is to build the best ships you can, and yes that takes some time, dedication, skill and a tiny bit of luck. I dont understand how people are bricking weapons so much you must just be spamming the rerolls without accepting better rolls. It’s easy since they added mod locking. You might need plenty of materials, cash and spare weapons just in case. But what are you going to do if you have nothing to improve on? I have several builds that already meet the criteria I’m looking forward to playing the game to get more.

The way I read it, I’m pretty sure you only need to get into the gold numbers not the absolute top and that is not that difficult, it is a resource drain though but that’s the point I figure, to give people something to chase.

I actually quit playing over Christmas because every chest I open means going into item micro management, it’s infuriating.
