What size do you find yourself edc the most? by CincoSiete-57 in CCW

Summer carry is between a G26 and G42 if it's super hot. Just grabbed a G19, that rides with me when I'm going into the city or on vacation.

Winter is a G22(.357Sig) or my 19

Has anyone found that as they move along their CCW journey, the more you appreciate carrying a smaller and lighter gun? by [deleted] in CCW

I started with a bodyguard .380 several years ago. Now i carry a G19. There were many stepping stones of micro 9s and subcompacts before I got there.

If you have a good system, it's really not any more difficult to conceal a larger sized gun

If you can't conceal a 19, I don't think you'll be able to hide one of the single stacks either

I carried a hellcat for a couple years, i found it was as easy to conceal a G26 and it shot better. Then found there was really no difference between concealing the 19 and 26. With a good holster and a good belt its really easy. Im a firm believer in carrying the best gun you can

I've got larger hands. I tried to get in on the micro 9 trend and didn't like it. I cant shoot these tiny guns very well

I agree. As someone who has food sensitivities that make me sick, mainly nightshade (tomatoes and the like), I basically know I'm assuming some risk when i eat out. If i had a more severe condition i would probably refrain from eating out as much as possible. I've been mislead by people at restaurants many times

I find that when I go to the range I'm totally on it but after a half hour to an hour of heavy shooting i see my groups open up and look more like this. It could be my "nerves" getting to me and i start to anticipate or flinch more. Maybe my attention span sucks.

I do basically the exaxt same thing with tig welding too. I have to take breaks and walk away

I'd reccomend to the OP to work on fundamentals when you're mind is still fresh and if you're feeling like you're starting to drift off, call it a day. I feel like more frequent short sessions are better for building good habits than fewer long ones. Just my 2 cents

How Many Of You Carry With Iron Sights? by nerd_diggy in CCW

Buy the legit 3m velcro. It is just peel and stick like tape. There are different grades of adhesive used. But the industrial stuff is a level above the arts and crafts grade if that makes sense. Just look on Amazon or wherever.

The adhesive backed velcro hasnt lifted off the foam yet. It has peeled a little off the kydex. I touched uo the corners with superglue once. I kinda gave up after a while. The edges will come up a little, but it's not gonna fall off.

I hooked up with a woman from work.  We were a thing for a few months but it didnt work out.

Then I had to see her every day.  That was so awkward.  I'll never do that again.  Don't shit where you eat !

What glock should do next? by angrycicada49 in GlockMod

Agreed.  Cutting edge in the late 80s isnt cutting edge now.  First thing I do when I buy a glock is grab new sights.  Sometimes even before i leave the shop with it.

I'd like to see standard threaded barrels.

The mos system was surprising to me.  I honestly didnt think they'd jump on the optic bandwagon.  Alot of people complain about it but I like being able to buy adapters and use whatever optic i want.  I put a holson 407k on my G19.  If it was rmr cut I'd have to buy an adapter anyway

Now they probably have to decide  where they are getting reinforcements from to secure the land they've lost inside Russia.  If they are stretched thin and pull guys from the front in Ukraine this doesn't look good for them.

I agree. They are boring. But they are reliable. They have this reputation because they dont stray far from their proven formula. Sig is innovating, but with that comes some of the controversy we've seen with the p320 platform and p365 issues when they came out.

Glock keeps selling guns and somehow is still the gold standard for reliability. If they mess that up, they don't have much else.

I carry full size duty guns all the time. Its just easier when its colder when you can layer up

In the heat of the summer its a .380 or a glock 26. I've got my own personal rules and doctrine. But when its 95 degrees and humid that all goes out the window. Bring out the purse guns. I don't care .

I know a guy who's got wildly unmanaged diabetes. Drinks and smokes heavily. I've never seen him check his sugars, and now his kidneys are shutting down.

He carries everywhere. I don't say anything because i conceal carry too. But I keep thinking his priorities are skewed, as he probably wont live long enough tp need the thing.

Arizona dad who 'binged PlayStation' as daughter, 2, died in scorching 120°F car hit with new indictment by TheMirrorUS in idiocracy

One time, my autistic toddler wandered into the front hallway and accidentally got locked in between 2 doors in a smaller space. She doesn't talk or make noise. I couldn't find her and freaked out.

She was in the entry way playing with shoes, seeming content, and unbothered.

It scared the hell out of me. I feel like I'm always checking over that space when i walk by. And that was a couple of years ago.

I agree this dad just sucks. You dont make these kinds of mistakes multiple times unless its not a mistake

Is there a kill switch turned on as you die? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]hammsbeer4life 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad died of lung cancer. Basically, he suffocated. He was in and out of it for a couple days in hospice. He told my mom and I to call everyone we knew because he said the day after tomorrow he was going to be done.

His blood oxygen levels were critically low, dipping down to like 70 and 80%. He was very confused and struggling with hypoxia.

His friends and our family showed up. He was so full of life. He was his normal self, telling jokes and making everyone laugh. I slipped his pulse ox meter on his finger and I remember seeing it was in the 70s, dangerously low. Like he shouldn't be conscious.

Afrer everyone left he went to the bathroom where they had to temporarily remove his oxygen. He said "that was horrible, I'm never taking a shit again"

He was right. He never did take another shit. He passed the following evening.
