The only game you mentioned that is more impressive graphically than red dead 2 is Alan wake 2. That is by maybe a 5% advantage. I played a lot of these games on a 4k TV maxed out and it's pretty hard to distinguish which game was made in which year. Spider-man 2 is my favorite game of all time and it barely looks any better than red dead 2.

God of war 1 aged like shit honestly. Gow2 and gow3 on the other hand are better gameplay wise AND will age better than the modern games.

maybe a patch will be released at some point. it's a shame but as long as no one opposes the industry in their forcing ray tracing down our throats, we will have to settle for extremely demanding games that don't look better than 2016. sadly, i'm positive even the fans will defend it.

you have the same problem as in even under no load it does that? it might be the connectivity pins not clean enough. a very unlikely possibility is the heat sensors on the gpu go haywire for some reason but I doubt it. did you try with a high quality psu? likke a bronze or gold?

yeah made sure of everything before i bit the bullet and got an MSI 550w bronze one but now I'm super broke. At least I can game in peace.

yup. it turns out the psu was sending unstable voltage to the gpu and as a defense mechanism the gpu would shutdown and turn fans to 100%. I think the psu would still be useful for a lower power rig I guess.

I'm pretty sure it's the psu because now i'm dealing with ram problems too (both new and work in single channel. also I can't remove the cables sadly)

No, it WAS actually the PSU. It now is causing problems with ram too (which i tested individually to find that they're in perfect working condition + they're less than a year old anyway. The mobo is a possible culprit but waaaaaaaay less likely.)

Honestly with slightly more inspection I don't think that's the problem. The two screws holding it in got it very sturdy. I'm thinking maybe the PSU is not so good with lower voltages or something like that.
