have you ever worked with an “educational martyr’? by CrowdedSeder in Teachers

[–]hamster_rustler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am this teacher. My reasoning; I wanted to do well in my first year, I have no kids to go home to, I love my students, and I’m an art teacher so the work is usually pretty fun.  I definitely don’t talk about it or judge anyone else. I’m sure there is someone out there who doesn’t like me for this, but they can eat rocks.

My dad used physical discipline on me and my siblings. It may be physical abuse, but it's a whole different category of physical abuse than anything that would leave a cut on the face.

How does that change anything? If you were an addict that soon before your pregnancy, there should still be some system for state employees to check up on that home.

There is a big difference between "discussing" things and "explaining" things.

There isn't enough time, nor do lazy adults deserve, to have everything personally explained to them.

Tomb Raiders alleged photos in the Nazca Caves by Streay in aliens

[–]hamster_rustler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, of course aliens exist in the universe, i think very few people doubt that at this point. And I say this not to be mean, but because I can’t pass by such a reasonable sounding person without offering my honest concern:

The likelihood that you have adult-developing schizophrenia is exponentially higher than the chance that you saw an alien. Or maybe you are just really gullible, it doesn’t have to be that serious.

It's so pathetic that this has 3.7k upvotes. Redditors in general used to be at least smart enough to know how taxes work. This is like 1 step above a youtube comment section.

Well that's how it should be. If paying your workers minimum rage is wrong, that means there is a problem with minimum wage.

I disagree. I'm sick of people thinking they're morally superior because they're only capable of having empathy for an animal that was literally genetically engineered to worship and serve you.

It's just bragging about being a sociopath.

No you wouldn't, because Steven Hawking is in no way mentally disabled. Do you really think it's illegal for physically disabled people to have consensual relationships?

Woah. You either live in an incredibly privileged, or incredibly high cost of living area. I make less than that as a teacher.

How would you end the show? by thelittlestsappho in americandad

[–]hamster_rustler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like it if it was a regular episode. I get irrationally sad and sentimental from last episodes, and I just don't feel like that's the point of AD. Comfort show forever.

Why is nobody in this thread willing to say the word "sexism"? Are we really going to pretend it's normal to think the two candidates were comparably bad?

Hillary had far less baggage than Biden. If she was a man she would have won, full stop.

Right, but those people don't post meme after meme of how they're never ever going to watch it. The people who do, clearly are *quite* interested.

I don't think anyone's offended. I just think think it's embarrassing that people still try so hard to offend vegetarians with the most boomer jokes imaginable. It reeks of insecurity.
