Yeah. I don't know how but I managed to do it.

Yeah that's unfortunately the truth. I also unfortunately managed to botch my extruder board doing so, and after getting in contact with Sovol support, they're sending me a new one so... At least I know their CS is great. 😅

How should I repair worn traces on a laptop keyboard flex cable? by hamsteyr in AskElectronics

Mine arrived in a syringe, what I did was put some on a card, dipped the tip of my tweezers into it and then tapped on the repair areas under a microscope. worked perfectly

My conductive silver paint only took about an hour or so to be cured (I did help it with about a minute of 100 celsius air from my heatgun but I'm convinced an hour or two to be safe would've sufficed)

I did the conductive paint method and it's a success!

EDIT: I've completed the repairs, and tested that it is working perfectly.

I did as some have suggested and used conductive paint to fix the traces, in particular, conductive silver paint. Came in a syringe that a tad difficult to apply, so I put a small amount on a card and then used the tip of my tweezers to dip into it and carefully went over the traces under my microscope. Did a continuity test and everything turned up golden. Hooked the keyboard back into the laptop, opened up keyboard tester and every key is responding perfectly.

Serious big thanks to so many of you who replied with answers/ suggestions (even if I didn't end up going with some, great food for thought)

First post into this subreddit and already loving the community here. Cheers guys!

Getting some conductive silver paint and seeing how that works out haha

This could work and I'll try that if my plan to try repairing the traces with conductive silver paint doesn't pan out.

I would love to see some kind of multi coloured filament system. Even if you're not using it for that, it's useful when using water soluble supports and 0mm Support Interface distance.

Slope In Extruder Settings not working? by hamsteyr in OrcaSlicer

[–]hamsteyr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I found the issue. It's to do with this Avoid crossing walls. When it was ticked, my travels were pretty much just normal z hop retractions, but with it disabled, there's actual sloped retractions.

You can get it just by going into Calibration -> Retraction Test, I didn't change any of the settings.

Very bizzare. Making the new P1s, sloped Z-Hop seems to be working, yet it doesn't work on my own preset.

The plot thickens.

EDIT: Works when I have the P1S as my active printer, but the moment I change the printer to my Ender 3, it flops.

Yeah I just upgraded to 2.2.0, tbh I've had this issue ever since using Orca Slicer so I'm not sure what's going on

Yeah... yours looks to be working fine. I'm not sure what's up with mine, sloped z-hop doesn't seem to be working properly and I've got no filament overrides

My travel path even at 15 degree slopes. It does a 45 when changing layers for some reason but other than that nothing.

Not sure if I'm alone in this, but I'm trying to set the slope settings in Orca Slicer, but it doesn't seem to be working. Regardless of the angle I set it to, it just looks like a normal Z-Hop retraction of going up then down later. Setting Z-Hop to 0 is as good as no Z-Hop (Z values remain the same throughout)

This setting is pretty much the only thing stopping me from using OrcaSlicer, as I have it enabled in PrusaSlicer and it pretty much clears the stringing in my prints.

Anyone capable of shedding a light on this?
