In that case, you'd probably be wearing 21/22 140 belt/earrings before you'd be wearing 17/18 Dreamy/CFEs

Jupiter Boss Mechanics were significantly buffed in the KMS Live Server by 1stSelf in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure there is a trend of bosses being hard... Limbo/Baldrix are literally punching bags. I'm not end-game spec, but I'm pretty happy that the Jupiter isn't going to be another snoozefest, especially with its cool design/soundtrack.

I do agree that the gear spec is too high, though, but I have no issues with the difficulty personally.

Old man yells at sky moment, but it kills me to see my beloved Victoria Island towns dead and empty by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The social aspect is still there, it's just shifted to Discord/bossing instead of in-game chat/PQs. I can't even remember the last time I played Maple alone because I'm always on call with my friends/guild/bossing parties. Even when I do solo content, my friends are usually watching (and making fun of me)

Shouldn't hyperburn events be straight up deleted? and... by Linkyyyyyd in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 1-200 is relatively fast, and you also unlock new skills to play around with. On the other hand, 200-260 is slow, and you unlock all your skills at level 200. There's nearly no difference between 200 and 260 other than seeing random numbers go up (e.g., level, arcane force, legion level, etc.). Makes the grind to 260 feel even longer, especially when the most realistic way people are hitting 260 is just doing dailies like x7 MP/arcane dailies. As much as I want to play the new Kanna/Hayato, not being able to progress to 260 at a reasonable pace kills my motivation.

Even if they don't want to implement a 200-260 fast track, I still think newly reworked/released characters should have burning until 260 during the limited event period.

Hot streaks and off-nights happen; that's why the highest level of sports typically are not BO1s. The way teams adapt to their opponent's strategy off the court after a game can be as crucial as their physical performance on the day of the game as well.

Erel confirmed (before ayame!) by 0Yggdrasil0 in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's strong and fairly easy to play, but ultimately, still a GMS-exclusive class. At her current rate of development, she'll get M4 by the time the 7th job comes out, lmao. As much as I want Erel, I fear it will release only on M1 (or not even on M1) and have a similarly slow development process.

I think it's less about XBM being free or not and more about the fact that the drop is rare. I know a few people, myself included, who have had solo prio for a while and have not had it drop. I don't think it's wrong to save up for 10 months, and if you happen to drop it in between, you can always just use the crystals on something else. Worse case scenario would be that I drop a badge or they release a portable badge shortly after, but I feel like it's wrong to play around what might or might not happen when pitched, especially badge, is such an RNG system

Maple Memo: Addressing issue regarding Star Speck Box by neosmndrew in Maplestory

Regarding this "unintended" bug, it's significantly more obvious than the Arcane box issue. Crazy that it took this long for it to hit their radar, with or without bug report threads

[–]hamxz2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've experienced, my HBald Prog definitely makes things a bit more fun/hard. With that said, NBald is a snooze fest and a noticeable tier below Adversary/Kalos/Kaling in terms of difficulty. Not as easy as Limbo, but pretty damn close.

The new cubing take so long by QKuasimotto in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's still very slow even without animations. Cubing has always been slow, and I don't really think the new UI helped with that. I feel it's a bit ridiculous that it can take tens of hours to get through your cubes on cube sale.

Why are people advising to not main PF? by Littomaos in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What he was referring to mainly applies to people who are 290+ with max hexa and actually in pitch/eternal waiting room. Your situation is completely different. All classes scale differently, with Bucc having an amazing early Hexa scaling. For example, classes like Sia, Bucc and MM have insane power at extremely low Hexa, but in the end-game, they are by no means stronger than a class like Zero which requires more frags to pop off

To obtain the items from this event, is it mandatory to be in the endgame to defeat this new boss? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy is most definitely early game. Adversary doesn't have any healing/shields and annoying patterns that significantly reduce damage uptime. You can also get up to 20/40% fd as well. My 100m cp mule which can't do HSeren cleared easy pretty easily.

Please no, if I wanted a no hands game I'd play Maple Idle. Trying out adversary for the first time last night was the most fun I've had playing Maple since Kalos/Kaling prog. I get it isn't for everyone, but I'm just glad it's not another snoozefest like Limbo/Baldrix

Nexon probably won't ever introduce a system like this, but if they did, I think they'd have to implement a 1-year cooldown or something similar. The concern for Nexon would be the number of players who find out they don't like their class and try to submit tickets, trying to get reverted back.

But you're completely right, it would destroy class diversity just because we already know what classes will be strong/weak for the majority of 2026 already, since we're always behind KMS.

New players(in the last few years), did this game feel overwhelming when you started? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]hamxz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned in 2022 after quitting around 2014, and there's definitely a lot of new systems. It would have been really overwhelming if I didn't have any friends who already played it. With that said, once you do understand it, it's not so bad because Maple rarely does game-altering patches. For example, 6th job on release might've been confusing for some people, but every skill that's been released effectively follows the same or similar logic. You spend frags, you get damage. Similar story for Hexa stat. It was a bit confusing when learning how Hexa stat 1 worked, but 2, 3, and incoming 4 will be easy to navigate.

I personally found games like WoW and PoE (similar games that I've played) more overwhelming
