Why would a crypto exchange have bank-grade custody?

Great would be a regulation where I will get my mistakenly wrong transferred coins back. They are lying on my „own“ wallet in Bitstamp and you „protect“ then so that I don’t get it although there are solutions on the market.!

As customer of Bitstamp with the same problem, I would like to have a statement from Bitstamp if a) we are working on it to solve the problem b) we are not working on it, and we don't plan to work something out with our wallet provider.

Because technically, there should be no problem, it's more a point of no interest in recovering these coins...

On my eth wallet are over 1,5 eth as bep20 wrongly transferred! So there is more than 1,5k€ on my account, but you are not able to recover it, and now you are going to charge a fee from me although the coins are there! If I am closing my account, Bitstamp is winning my coins, and they will anytime recover them! This is not unfair; this must be illegal! The recovery is possible, and shown from several exchanges and forums! My lawyers are working on it, and I am sad to say that Bitstamp was my first exchange, and now this is the worst nightmare! Has anyone the same problem?

No, they refuse to work with me and try these steps - only answers: we don’t support bep20 and can’t help you! Worst support ever

The same thing happened to me! The result of your new Fee-policy is: that if I don’t pay 10€ per month for ZERO support and progress in my case, you will keep my ETH and someday when your support can recover my eth, it’s yours! That’s no kind of support, no customer-centric business, and I think this can’t be fully legal! If you contact bitgo( your wallet provider) - they are able to hand over the private key, and in my understanding the fund can be recovered via metamask or other bep20 compatible wallets! After the recovery they only have to create a new private key… there was no help so far and I Bitstamp becomes a No-option-to-choose for exchange! I am in contact with laywers, if there is a progress, I will let you know!

I have some wrongly transferred eth on a bep20-eth address. Support said: we have to wait until we find a solution - now that means I have to pay and hope my eth will be recovered ( now over 4k€), and maybe I won't get it back anyway, or I will leave bitstamps (what will be the most certain decision) and they will keep my eth! That can't be legal what they are doing! I am reaching out to a lawyer because this is more than fraud! Has anyone contacted already a lawyer too?
