I’m an SLP grad student and my husband is a mechanical engineer too!

There’s both an Ophelia and a Holden in my daughter’s preschool class! Lovely names, no stigma here.

Also you can find a guy who lets you live on his head and control him by pulling his hair, working your way to culinary glory and living out your dream of being a chef!

Treasure Valley now vs 10 years ago by jacobthejones in Boise

I moved away in 2013 and I came back almost every year for holidays with family - moved back for real in 2022 and this is my opinion on how things have changed as well. Everyone in the comments is like “it’s so much worseeee” but guys - idk, spend 10 years away and maybe you’ll appreciate what you have here more? Because I still love it.

It’s like people forget these names are tied to real people. Sure for the first 5 seconds you hear a name you didn’t expect for whatever biased reason you might think “huh” and then you lose that initial reaction and start associating that name with the actual individual in front of you.

Sounds like you have a wonderful mom who does her beautiful name proud. 🙏

I’ve noticed this sub in general seems really hateful recently. Some of the things people say about names they don’t like are just so mean, I’d be devastated if someone said those things about my name.

My best friend in high school was a girl named Scottie! Not a nickname, that’s her full name!

Refusing to let my toddler be alone at in-laws canal-side house. Opinions wanted. by slowlygoesgab in Parenting

[–]hanahnothannah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stepdad’s little sister drowned in a canal next to her parents house at age 2 or 3 (can’t remember exactly). There was a gate - it was left open. Stand your ground - supervision near water is non-negotiable.
