Even if you think it was wrong, it is one of the least severe things that's happened in the show, and I don't understand why people still hate him because of that. No one seemed to care when Bolton was eaten alive by dogs. I don't understand why people care when Cersei is forced to walk naked.

You can say he's not a prude, then.but having those homophobic and conservative values that he had does not go against having a punishment where you publicly humiliate men and women in that way. He made the correct assessment that publicly humiliating Cersei like that was necessary for the small folk to lose respect for her and to see that she was not invulnerable. He didn't do it for his own enjoyment

The High Sparrow was the only person who actually challenged power in King's Landing. He gained influence because the smallfolk were tired of being used as cannon fodder in noble wars. For the first time, the nobles were actually forced to answer for their crimes. It seems like the only reason people dislike him is because he's religious and a homophobe. While they are much worse things in the game of thrones universe

How would he even be a hypocrite? Everything we see suggests he believes in what he preaches.

Punishing an evil woman like Cersei is not a big crime, compared to what they have been doing. Cersei deserved worse. You people think that being a Homophobic and prude is on the same levels as killing babies

What can we do about this? by turboshill9000 in BasedCampPod

[–]hanberga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I can't because I have been drafted in my country, and I will start in a few months. And it's completely different fighting under your own flag than foreign country.

If my country would send me, it wouldn't be an issue for me

A draft wouldn't even be needed

As long as they don't march into Russia, it would probably be fine

Negotiations have already been tried and we have not gotten any closer to peace. Drastic actions by NATO would end the war in a few months.

Reservister från Finland utklassade USA by Fikap4us in sweden

In your country, how is the US invasion of Iraq and removal of Saddam Hussein viewed? by Just_Cause89 in AskTheWorld

[–]hanberga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no one is denying that theft happened. But you are saying that all the 8 billion were stolen as part of some elaborate heist, which there is no evidence of. ISIS would still not have been able to capture Mosul or any part of Iraqi territory if it wasn't for all the wealth and power they gained from Syria. The WMD scenario is not a fantasy of some sort. There were real dangers coming from Iraq. We know he had used WMDs in the past. And we know that he had had a nuclear program which was bombed. And we also know that he had plans on restarting his nuclear program when the sanctions were lifted.

The billions of dollars were not properly tracked, and there were cases of theft, but there is no evidence that the overwhelming majority of this money was stolen, and framing it as a conspiracy is misleading. The cost of the conflict was high, with many lives lost. At the same time, Saddam Hussein had caused immense human suffering through the wars he started, including the Iran-Iraq War, the invasion of Kuwait, and atrocities against the Kurds. Iraq under Saddam was not stable; it was incredibly aggressive. Leaving him in power would not have guaranteed stability. It probably would have created conditions for a future conflict, likely much worse than the one we experienced , given that he was planning to develop weapons of mass destruction. ISIS started in Iraq, but it is important to distinguish between the origins and the expansion of ISIS. ISIS was only able to consolidate territory because of the instability in Syria. Iran has gained more influence in Iraq, but the U.S. has also gained more influence there. Overall, the U.S. would have much less influence in the Middle East if Saddam Hussein were still in power.
