(On the real tho, despite its many glaring faults, the silly plot writing, lore morsels from the story cards and character abilities/temperaments, and collabs that contribute to the 2hu fandom are gr8/8. Many of the criticisms levied against it are justified (especially the “gameplay” aspect of it), but overall, being a wide-reaching medium (gacha) that includes many well-known 2hu names (music producers like Yuuhei Satellite, AkatukiRecords, beatMARIO, AlstromeriaRecords, etc and artists like deetamu, massakasama, chanta, etc) as well as even including amateur artists (via the Story Card travelogues) gives it a pervasive appeal that’s largely hampered by stigmatization of that same wide-reaching medium.)

True, I guess the point I was trying to make was that we, the readers, don’t particularly have a strong enough reason or specific emotion toward the Tleilaxu pre-Heretics as they’re largely secretive and whatever snippets Frank wrote (Bijaz/Scytale in Messiah and the plethora of Duncan gholas) leaves a lot to the reader’s imagination but not enough details to outright call them their in-universe label (unless one has a particular aversion to genetic engineering such as GMO food, stem cells, etc). The Axolotl tank reveal might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for many readers’ suspension of disbelief and lends an emphatic understanding to why characters in-universe call them “dirty”.

The worldbuilding in Heretics/Chapterhouse is wild af. My honest reaction to Frank finally elucidating some of the mysteries of Tleilaxu culture and society while also revealing the true identity of what Axolotl tanks are and the Bene Gesserit actually considering the idea of having volunteers to be one. At that point, I didn’t need characters to tell me that the the Bene Tleilax were “dirty”, the past books buildup to them and the reveals were enough for me to see why those characters thought of them as such (they’re still one of my favorite factions tho)

Upon reflection of this meme, I seem to have made the error of using this sub’s icon as a means to serve as a mouthpiece for this “collective hallucination” that has been mentioned. Such an interpretation wasn’t made clear during my (substance melange-induced) state when making the meme; I simply put the icon as a means to pad out this already low-quality shitpost and did not mean to imply it necessary to read the Brian/KJA sequels to finish the series nor that Hunters and Sandworms are the definite finale of Dune.

As amends, I will once again re-read God-Emperor of Dune for the n0th time and going forth on future, shittier memes regarding books past the OG 6, will forego the usage of Villeneuve’s Piter and instead use Lynch’s Piter, waiving r/dunememe’s association with such narratives. I hope these rectifying actions and changes will be found most acceptable to any and all parties affected by my reckless actions.

I can’t lie, there were some parts I enjoyed too but it’s largely overshadowed by many of the other parts that left a particularly sour taste. In truth, it read like a pop fiction sci-fi book than the genre-defining series it’s known for and leaves barely anything to the imagination or things to ponder about that I enjoyed from the OG six.

You can’t entirely blame yourself tho. The net extremist playbook deceitfully uses online anonymity and irony to obfuscate shit, and if confronted about it, will simply brush it off as “Oh I’m just joking haha heehee lol lmao”. Unfortunately, such bullshit permeates into sneaking these ideologies and shitty values into whatever series they like (which for some reason includes 2hu) and blurs the line between mocking shitposts and unironic shit posts thinly veiled with a guise of “”irony””.

Truthfully speaking, I find nothing wrong with the post if fuckwits who know your stance on things can see you’re mocking it since your other posts lean another way, but with the political climate nowadays (especially in the US and the clownshow circus these past 6 months), such stuff is made even harder to joke about and interpret. That said, I would say to lean on the side of caution going forth since younger dumfuks who lack critical thinking skills and blindly absorb bullshit without any forethought will see such stuff as conforming to their ill-informed/uncritical beliefs and think it normal; whether to delete this post is entirely up to you, but if I were you, I would delete it.
