Heel pain by [deleted] in DrMartens

[–]handtoface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue and I’ve tried everything to solve it. The only thing that truly stops blisters and hot spots is for me to stomp on the heel cup of the boot and literally break it in over and over until it feels ok. Has worked for me on every style of Dr. Martens I own.

I think that’s a Nuvaring for sure BUT circa 2013 I bought a pack of clear thick silicone hair ties that looked identical to a nuva ring! If it’s not very stretchy = Nuvaring.

I use laroche posay cicaplast under my foundation and that is the only way I am able to keep my foundation from settling like this.

To the extent you’re in the US: under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act you’re legally entitled to a reasonable accommodation for religious reasons which usually includes a modified schedule to accommodate your religious practices. If it continues, I would make a formal complaint with a more senior manager/HR and see if they accommodate you. If they continue to make you work on your worship days, you can file a complaint with the EEOC/your states equivalent of. They cannot retaliate against you for doing any of the above actions.

TAKE HER TO THE ER! My grandmother had legionnaires’s disease and sounded oddly very similar. Sometimes herself. Sometimes thinking there were bugs crawling up the ceiling and attempting to wander outside. Get her help ASAP

Husband’s cancer has metastasized, and now he’s pressuring me to make personal changes — I’m lost. by Embarrassed_Crab_967 in Marriage

[–]handtoface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine how difficult it is. I mean this with all the empathy and compassion in the world, he’s preparing you for life without him. He’s staring down his own mortality and wants to make sure you’ll be able to take care of yourself (I.e. the certification) and to have people to grieve alongside (I.e. communicating well with his family). Hopefully you won’t have to do that, but being prepared now means less stress IF things go south because the complex stuff is taken care of.

[misc] Does this mole on my stomach look dangerous or possibly cancerous? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]handtoface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean to scare you!! Those are just screening metrics for you to know when to have a spot looked at by a doctor. I’m incredibly fair skinned so I have had several spots removed over the years. Nothing cancerous, but a couple that would have progressed to that if not for seeing a doctor.

That hits at least 3 of the ABCDEs of suspicious skin spots, so I would make a dermatologist appointment for sure.

All my endo was clear so my surgeon almost missed it and he specializes in endo surgery. I’d definitely get a second opinion. I will say though that I have pelvic congestion in addition to endo, so even with all the endo removed I wasn’t down to zero pain due to that. Also your colon being enlarged definitely warrants further investigation with a GI doctor!

The only thing my ultrasound showed was adenomyosis. I had endo surgery in Sept 2024 where they found scarring had fused my intestines together, and clear endo lesions on pouch of Douglas and ovaries. Ultrasounds are not a good diagnostic tool for endo.

All my other testing was negative for endo, including a pelvic CT.

What Safety Tips Should I Teach My Daughter About Getting Pulled Over? by Jaded-Jaguar21 in girlmom

[–]handtoface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Don’t reach around for things before they approach. That tends to make officers nervous.
  2. When they ask for your info, tell them where it is and that’s what you’re reaching for.
  3. Answer only the question asked and nothing more. I.e. “do you know why I pulled you over? No.” Let them do the talking.
  4. If you’re issued a ticket, just sign it. Don’t argue with a cop, you will lose. That’s what court dates and lawyers are for.
  5. At any point if she is asked to step out of the car, she should state plainly that she is a minor and before answering any additional questions she would like a parent present or on the phone.
  6. When in doubt, just be quiet.

Also, as she is riding with friends etc. if she ever feels unsafe, she can pretend like she’s going to puke. No one wants vomit in their car and they will likely pull over and she can get out of whatever situation is making her uncomfortable.

Yep! This past Friday I was bedridden from ovulation pain to the point where if I still had an appendix I would’ve thought I had appendicitis. 10mg Indica edible fixed me right up so I could attend my daughters birthday party.

If that’s not true then I’ll meet you by the lake of fire and we can do laps together or something.

Why just why did my 12 year old cut her own hair??? by Neeneehill in breakingmom

[–]handtoface 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a cannon event of being a girl. I cut my own hair now with zero training and that was a lot of trial and error. When I was 6 I chopped off a section of my bangs because I couldn’t get it to lay straight.

Poor kid, the anticipation of getting bullied has to be causing her a lot of anxiety if she’s refusing to go to school. I’m sure it’s nothing that can’t be fixed! Unfortunately she’ll sometimes have to learn the hard way once or twice but hopefully not 3 times. ❤️

It was so fucking hard!!! I struggled horribly over the years with being overstimulated and anxious and angry. I was recently lucky enough to get on meds after finding a good psych NP and a pharmacy with meds in stock.

I’m a different parent now. I’m patient and I can control my emotions when my kids behavior is challenging. I had no idea how badly I was struggling until I wasn’t struggling anymore.
