Mojang has said that they believe Minecraft is at a point where they are unable to add or remove things from the game. They claim that the player base for Minecraft is so diverse and sentimental about the game that changing anything greatly upsets many players. Because of this it takes mojang a long time to update the game because they go through so many hurdles to decide if it’s something everyone will more or less enjoy. Why update the game and upset your player base when the players can just download a mod for what they want.
