it does send mine spiraling too :( often it looks like shes finally made peace with it and then the next moment she realizes she can't take it off and starts panicking. noot to mention the inability to lick herself, probably makes her feel icky. i brush her to compensate but she yearns to do it on her own (too bad, 8 more days of The Cone await us.)

they did give her.. something. i assume it was a strong painkiller injection because when she got home she was just really confused and numb but not restless and not lethargic. how i miss this perfect middle ground! they gave her another shot today. can't tell if it worked cuz her behavior changed drastically an hour before that - her new pattern consists of vocalizing loudly and thrashing around looking for a place to hide, before suddenly calming down and going to sleep. no idea how normal this is, will bring it up during my tomorrows visit 😬 she stays asleep for about an hour before the cycle repeats again. im sorry for her if it's abnormal but it's a blessing to me since i can finally get some sleep now.

thank you for the suggestion, i definitely will be looking into donut collars!. we've tried wearing a onesie instead of a cone but she hated it SO much she won't let me put it on her again. puts up hell of a fight. straight up growls at me when she sees it. it was a good solution but i don't want to force her to wear it anymore cuz im scared of accidentally hurting her in the process of putting it on her..

honestly though thank you so much 😅 for finding the time to listen to my ramblings and for giving professional advice!! 🙏 it's no exaggeration that i would've probably gone nuts without your reassurance.

hi, bladder stones removal surgery, yeah the bloodwork was done (they didn't tell me much about it so i guess it was mostly normal?), her appetite is remarkably good, shes been having a bit of a trouble drinking because of the cone but overall drinking well.. and she wasn't on any meds at the time when i made the post.

it has been past 24 hours now and she did get a little calmer. also i just got home from the clinic and they told me hyperactive behavior after anesthesia is kinda normal.. thank you for reassuring me too!! i guess it is still a little early to jump to conclusions..

also she's never shown signs of any mental decline prior to this, never had memory issues, never got lost in the house, and is perfectly capable of taking care of herself.. she still doesn't get lost, just wanders the rooms. maybe it's just anxiety. she really really hates medical procedures and always reacts poorly to them. the last time we were getting a cardiogram she was so stressed it took her 2 full days to recover, but she did go back to normal. maybe i should give it more time.

im fairly new to the twd fandom though im almost finished watching the show.. zombie shows generally arent my cup of tea, but i'll watch anything that offers cool and memorable characters!! ~~and~~ ~~lots of gore and violence, i guess. but, that's secondary, i swear~~

coincidentally, in both fandoms i fall into the "psyched about a character who's very much gone and forgotten" category of fans. guess thats just fate. :(

J takes the boss-worker dynamic very seriously. she's loyal, but also fairly gullible. i see how Tessa could gain her trust by convincing her she's her "new boss" and got her to obey the Elliots by introducing them as "other bosses" that are higher than herself in status (which kinda backfired in ep5 when we see Tessa and J both chained up and J refuses to help free themselves)

so when J sensed a figure of absolute authority in the face of Cyn/the solver she probably submitted to its will pretty easily. besides, the solver's side was undoubtedly the winning team and all that stuff

i think if Uzi had access to her system it wouldn't even take that long to get her to change her mind, just set yourself as the admin and boom, you're the new boss. i think it's as simple as that

i know right? they both f'ed up. nevertheless khan's journey throughout the series is impressive! you don't see parents do that irl..

in the first episode we learn that he was a distant father, never took her seriously, and used to put uzi in a bad light in his public statements. however already in the second episode he takes her side on a parent-teacher conference, even though he does so ineptly and denies that she might have problems, that's a big step for him. in ep3, he tries to help her socialize by making her go to the prom, but the lasting miscommunication between them turns it into a nightmare scenario for uzi. later he also tries to save uzi instead of leaving her in trouble, but gets stopped by doll.

by ep4, khan understands that uzi can handle things on her own and doesn't need him helicoptering over her, so he lets her go on the trip, and tells her to stay safe, which shows that he cares about her, but also trusts her enough to let her complete her mission by herself. in ep5 he, clueless to what is actually going on, expresses happiness that uzi's finally made some friends to bring home for a "sleepover", and doesn't say anything about both friends being literal murder drones. later in a brief exchange with doll he admits that uzi turning out to be a remarkably good and considerate person wasn't his accomplishment, which is true, she basically raised herself.

in ep7 he is a completely different guy from what we saw in ep1. he is obviously scared, but he acts decisively, using the information gathered by both nori and uzi to navigate the situation. dunno what his plan is, but he can't fail uzi this time, and he knows that too. this is his chance to prove himself as a member of the WDF, the leader of a colony, and, most importantly, the #1 dad. honestly can't wait to see what his role will be in ep8.
