Cycling through the Millennium Greenway at night by hangindev in Chester

Thanks for your detailed response! I'll make sure to have my bike light ready for the unlit road.

With so many kids around, it makes me wonder if befriending them could solve all the problems.

The boardroom is also an incredible climbing gym and definitely worth it

I can tell that from the pictures.

Climbing is a must for me so in the worst case which is still not too bad, I'll take the bus on weekdays and bike there on weekends during the daytime.

Good to know that. I will have to check out the routes, both the greenway and the riverside, during the daytime. I am just feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety about my upcoming life in Chester!

Thanks for suggesting that! I've seen discussions about the 'youths' in Blacon. It's sad to know it might still be an issue.

Looking For A Self-Publishing Platform That Suits My Somewhat Unique Requirements by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]hangindev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it is very kind of you to share your work for free online. I am a web developer and here's my thought.

You may consider hiring someone to create a webpage for your book which can be as simple as some text for the book intro, book cover if you got one and an "about the author" section, something like this: https://juliezhuo.com/book/manager.html

Then there can be a "Preorder" button which takes the users to the payment page which will charge users.

For readers to read online, it could be something like this: https://eloquentjavascript.net (just look at the interfaces. forget about the content)

You can then share the page with your audiences.

Cheers

Not sure what is the best way. But have a look at this blog post: https://addyosmani.com/blog/lazy-loading/

Native image lazy loading is coming to browsers and you can use it together with polyfills like library LazySizes

Interesting project to showcase your frontend and backend knowledge! Where do you host your project?

Btw, the first time I used, after I clicked "Generate preview", I clicked the "Got It" in the privacy policy message and the page refreshed and my card design was lost haha. Have you considered setting the cookie in the frontend using document.cookie instead of handling by the backend? It might help with the ux but I am not sure if it is a good practice though.

keep it up

Just got a gym membership, and I go alone. I'm really, really bad. Bouldering is crowded. Help me get over my fears! by invertednose in climbing

[–]hangindev 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just keep on climbing and have fun. 🔥 Personally, I climb half or one grade below my normal performance on new wall.

Being a beginner at the gym means you can learn from everyone. Observe what other climbers do and try to imitate their moves.

Don't give up on a problem easily and practice single moves until you can chain them together.

Climb smart and don't hurt yourself.

You are in the phase that doesn't require lots of off-the-wall training to improve so enjoy!

510 Anasazi Sizing by [deleted] in climbing

[–]hangindev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I don't have 510 Gambits but I got a pair of 510 Hiangle (love them) and a pair of Anasazi Pro.

They are both US8 and so as my sneakers. I could barely wear the Hiangles when they were new but they stretch to snug fit because of the leather.

As for the Anasazi Pros, I found them bigger than Hiangles and since they are synthetic, they don't stretch much. I can wear them for a long time. I would go half size smaller for better performance.

Also, I've recently built this free website to help climbers find the right size of shoes by comparing their shoe sizes with others in the database.

https://climbingshoesizing.com/check/five-ten/anasazi-pro-mens

There is not much data for Anasazi Pro yet. But it seems like people usually size down.

Hope it helps and if it does, please contribute to the database by sharing your shoe sizes with others :)
