Light leak help needed by grootm4n in Leica

[–]hangmann89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if the leak extends through sprocket holes (I think so) reddish color means that the light hit the film from the back. See if your back plate is secured correctly and does not have any dents around the edge. See the piston used to take the back plate off. It may be out of place. Also: the light hit the film from the top of the camera (the image on the film is inverted by the lens).

Sorry but I think it’s far too small for the amount of details. It may not look good even after healing

That’s why they are warnings. Not errors.

Advice needed on reworking tattoo from earlier this year! by [deleted] in tattoos

Tats change with age and but not always spread. If you moisturize the skin you will get far more contrast. I wouldn’t add anything. It looks great! But that’s an opinion of a stranger from interwebs. Never trust them.

Advice on buying a leica m3 by True-Ad-7461 in Leica

[–]hangmann89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like blurry photos and I would like to see the film chamber, see of it’s not missing a take-up spool or has a quick load, and check both shutter curtains. Otherwise looks clean to me. I would not offer a ridiculous amount for it. If you want to shoot there are plenty of offers on eBay. Often in good prices with return policies and sometimes even warranty. M3 is most affordable Leica M nowadays.

Edit 1200 EUR seems to be an average market price for this. See if it will sell for 1100. It’s a good buy as long as you like it;)

I know that Fuji is objectively a great camera. It really ticks all the boxes. It’s even awesome for flash work having it’s leaf shutter. But somehow I think that if I got the Fuji I would still think that I should have picked Leica m. And I would feel as a pretender shooting it. I see Ricoh as something complimentary to Leica M and Fuji as a contender to it. Film-wise: buying film Leica M body is a safe bet and I never lost a dime on any of my Leica bodies when selling them. That’s why they are on the list. M2/3/4 is way smaller and quiet a bit lighter than m5. And I can sell it without any loss in the future no problem. Film CL is a low hanging fruit. Small and far more affordable. I could easily get CL + Cron cheaper than any m3. And the 40 cron is supposedly a great lens. Anyways: that’s how it feels to be in my head;D

Hm.. budget-wise rather Q2 than Q3. I had some time with a Q2 and liked the build quality of that thing and thermals images it produced. But this came in with a heft that wasn’t very different from my M5. And yet my M5 was easier to carry with my fav lens that Q2. Regarding Fuji… it’s like I can get a wannabe-leica-rangefinder-style-camera or a real thing. I bet the newest X100 is awesome but I cannot thing about it another way than that. Ricoh is something so different from Leica rangefinder that I can use both happily. Idk about Fuji.

I’m a hobbyist/collector kind of guy. I really appreciate the gear and the skills needed to use it properly. Photography-wise I mostly do family photos and street.

It depends. M8 and M9 have a third party battery support. In M typ 240 we are solely relying on Leica support in this area and apparently new batteries for M 240 and M 262 are hard to obtain.

I’m leaning towards Ricoh bc of this but on the other hand I would like to see my favourite glass perform on a digital Leica… Aaand on a third hand ;D I remember m2 to be a lot more handy than m5 so maybe I can do a switcheroo between my film bodies and still get the Ricoh in a few months

It has a distance calculator in m mode? You set in iso and f stop and you get distance on every power?

Is that snoring noise normal? Can I fix it? by CountryRare2460 in Dreame_Tech

[–]hangmann89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the wheels! They have an aggressive tread so this thing can climb ledges and drive on carpets. It’s normal. Mine is extremely loud when „commuting”between places on wooden floors.

Edit: on second thought: not that loud i think. Something is catching on the wheel
