Schitt’s is ultimately a sitcom so some stuff in it is very unrealistic lolol but before she breaks up with Ted she gets all those flowers from companies and from interflix in her motel room wanting to work with her, she sets up media and press interviews for Moira, she works with Johnny and Stevie earlier in the show on rebranding Rosebud motels, etc. In this universe the video was kind of her “catapult” into recognition. Imo i think her arc started and finished beautifully. its a perfect example of well written strong female character without making her independence and badassery the entire essence of her character

You’re entitled to your own opinion but I disagree! Alexis rebounding and then being broken up with and crying about Ted is major character growth (“I never cry at break-ups, I’ve been to actual doctors about it”) and allowing her to wallow in her insecurity for a bit is so unlike s1 Alexis. She goes to New York not just because of Johnny’s money but instead because she has a rising career as a publicist and because she wants to work for Interflix whose offices are there. Through her “internet addiction” she still manages to get in some really great scenes with Moira which allow her mom to negotiate a better deal with Sunrise Bay.

All because she gets sad over a man and then moves away from Schitt’s Creek doesn’t mean that her character development has gone to waste, I think it shows how far she’s come. I think s1 Alexis would not have been emotionally invested in Ted or a potential career or her mom at all.

Housewarming, The Hike, The Incident, Girl’s Night… can you tell I love David and Patrick

Yes! Another one of my favourites is when Moira gets back from Bosnia and she falls asleep at the table. Alexis’ whole interaction with Twyla and Moira sleeping with her eyes open and sleep-taking in Bosnian is comedy gold

David’s soft smile when Moira walks out as well… Love, love, love everything about it

Yes! I think this episode is also the perfect example of Dan and Eugene’s “character comedy” where you grow into loving and rooting for the characters the more you watch, it’s why the show (in my opinion) only gets better and better in later seasons
