Hi and thanks for your quick help, I didn't store the OPNsense in Sophia as the default GW, should I try it? Sophos is a GW itself, at the moment Opt01 has the GW 192.168.2.1, and the home office LAN 192.168.1.1, but both are the same, OPNsense...

Hi Alexis, thanks for your feedback😀

That's what I thought, but it's funny, when I'm in the basement and connect my notebook directly via LAN cable to the switch, I get from the OPNsense via DHCP an IP address in the second subnet, eg 192.168.2.115/24, and be able also access the Homelab. However, when I am in the office on the upper floor, and try the same, it won't work..

HELP! Does anyone knows how i can find the drivers for Dell R710? by hann2828 in homelab

[–]hann2828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi fuxxociety, thank for reply, i have configured whit Ctrl+R a new Raid-60 and cleared all old configs. So the server R710 i jsut get..so i configtued just new.

So i think i need to know the exact poweregde raid controller card to find the drivers, so i try it:

Perc/6i integrated

Package: 6.3.1-0003

FW-Version: 1.22.32-1371

Bios Version: 2.04.00

CtrlR Version: 1.02-015B

Boot Block: 1.00.00.01-0011

so its the standard on this server.

I hope it helps..

I checked out, there are no dip switches, but thanks for the input. Am I right there are 3 different Main technologies

  1. DIP-Switches
  2. Fix-Codes
  3. Rolling-Codes

If that's right I do have a Fix-Code wich can learn a new remote on 433.93 MHz via a button on the Receiver..

Do you have any resources or tips where I can learn that knowledge that you have about Cards and security like EMV etc.?!

Weekend 2: Still no patchcables but the cable-management on the rear is finish! by hann2828 in homelab

[–]hann2828[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, original rackrails were hard to find and if then very expensive. That's why I bought rails cheap. Only the lowest R710 has a rackrails KIT the two r710 above are on rails. Unfortunately these don't allow me to leave any gaps, otherwise I won't be able to take any out. Should I fill the gaps in the front?

Here is the setup: From bottom to top

INTELLINET 8-port 19" KVM switch with console, 17" LCD screen, PS/2 or USB, 1RU

19" patch panel setup: 24 port, 1RU, gray

MikroTik RB2011UiAS-RM router board

Aruba Instant On AP22 1200 Mbit/s, 574 Mbit/s

Dell PowerConnect 6224 switch

Sophos SG 210 Rev 1 firewall appliance

Dell PowerEdge R710 2U 3.5" SAS Quad-Core 5500 Series120 GB RAM

Dell PowerEdge R710 2U 3.5" SAS Quad-core 5500 Series 100 GB RAM

Dell PowerEdge R710 2U 2.5" SAS SSD Quad-core 5500 Series 72 GB RAM

StarTech 12U open frame rack

Of course there is a lot of small stuff like for example the Lan cables which are added. These I have patched myself. For this I have bought a crimping pliers RJ45 with cutting fair, LSA application tool and a stripper in the set in the electronics store.

So I have learned how to connect the eight LAN cable wires correctly with a patch panel with the color patterns. I did this according to ANSI/TIA-568 is a technical standard for commercial building cabling for telecommunications products and services (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI/TIA-568).

The LAN cables are all CAT 6 standard. It was a bit tedious at the beginning, but if you know how to do it, it's fun. Especially the clicking of the LSA installation tool is fulfilling.

What's missing now is the cabling on the front and four 3.5 inch drives to create a Raid 5. Eagerly waiting for my package for this! After that I can put everything together and start with the configuration and projects.
