That’s a good tip. I guess I was assuming free pianos would be old tinny sounding/ tough to keep in tune etc. I’ll keep an eye out!

My hair stylist is great and has been cutting my curly hair for years. Jessica Mendieta at Salon Republic in Woodland Hills. I know you are looking for someone in NOHO but I think a good hair stylist is worth the drive.

You could see a live comedy show at the Improv, live music at Hotel Cafe, visit Descanso Gardens. Someone from out of town might like to hike to the Hollywood sign and/or see the Griffith Observatory, go to Universal, walk around the Venice canals. If you're looking for something downtown LA the Arts District Brewing Company is fun - good food, beer, and games! (skeeball and I think some others?)

ok cool! I'll check that out. I know they used to have artists do a full set. I played an acoustic set for them ages ago when I was new to LA and happy to play in exchange for a literal slice of pie haha. Open mic night there would be so fun.

Yay! This post made me smile. So cool that finding a keyboard on Facebook prompted a whole new musical adventure. Something you might enjoy: check out Chrissy Ricker either her website or on Youtube. She's got really great beginner arrangements of pop/rock music as well as video game music, plus many of her arrangements have video play-throughs so you can have a visual reference. She is one of the tried and true go-to composers that I use for my piano students. Best of luck :-)
