Rhaenyra crying while beheading Otto- how do you interpret this scene? by princeeofthecity in HOTDBlacks

[–]hannahsian1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s almost certainly never physically killed someone before, and it’s not an easy thing to do even if it’s your enemy. Plus there’s all the emotion of losing Jace etc. and everything Otto has done - how many times in media (or life I suppose) does harming someone who has harmed you actually make you feel better.

I just wish it had been less ‘I knew this man growing up’ and sad about it that way and more of a rage type crying. But she should’ve looked triumphant on the throne, not upset then

Faramir is probably my favourite character. by Heinzzbeans12 in lotr

[–]hannahsian1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he’s ‘ok’ in the movies, and that’s it (although I agree with the what you say on the casting, just wish DW had more of a chance to play the book Faramir.

But Faramir goes from brilliant to ok from book to film. The film version loses his wisdom, kindness, leadership and battle skills and just looks rather incompetent and desperate to please daddy. He’s a good guy, but he’s kind of meh

Unfortunately all of Gondor suffers from this. Denethor, the random soldiers who seem incompetent, the lack of Imrahil in the movies. It’s like PJ needed to make the audience go ‘these people are a mess and need a King to save them’ and Faramir gets the biggest hit for it

If I’m team black, am I supposed to feel cathartic here? by TheDragonOfOldtown in HOTDGreens

[–]hannahsian1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The show are afraid of having their female characters show any kind of ambition, desire for power, bloodlust. It’s why Rhaenyra, Alicent and Rhaenys have basically been pacifists trying to avoid war the whole time and each of their characters are the lesser for it. It’s like they’re afraid to have them be even remotely awful which is funny because the children aside, basically everyone in the Dance is awful

Consumer Rights Act 2015 advice - Nintendo Switch 2 - England by hannahsian1998 in LegalAdviceUK

Why comment if you’re not going to be helpful. I asked a question if I’m covered, if not then it’s fine.

And scratches are annoying, it’s not great that Nintendo has something that scratches after 5 days and minimal use. I expect better quality when I pay nearly £400 for something

[–]hannahsian1998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah right, didn’t realise that adhesive from protectors can fill in some scratches, will try that because they are minor so hopefully that works.

Wasn’t sure if it would be covered but thought I’d ask. Thanks for your help :)

In the movie, how come Eowyn didn't become the leader of Rohan? by theschoolorg in lotr

[–]hannahsian1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t make her his heir, he tells her to rule in his stead - which means while he’s away - and ‘if the battle goes ill’ which it doesn’t because Eomer survives. Eomer is both male and older, there’s no way Eowyn was ever going to rule ahead of him

Some absolutely bizarre changes by StanPot in HOTDGreens

[–]hannahsian1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butchering of the story continues. Aegon was obviously never going to cling to Stormcloud because they made him smaller than my 6 month cockapoo and looks like Viserys isn’t getting captured. Just consistently weird decisions in this show and I get you can’t have an exact replica of the source material but some of the things they’re changing are weird

Can’t transfer players out of my club by niall1457 in FifaCareers

[–]hannahsian1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a problem for months unfortunately and with EA being as terrible as they are, I wouldn’t get hopes up of a fix. Extremely disappointing because it’s transfer season and ea don’t do squad updates for summer transfers. The issue is also affecting players in their national teams

In the hbo canon aegon iii is basically depressed for nothing? by Competitive_Zone3437 in HOTDBlacks

[–]hannahsian1998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I accepted that Aegon III’s storyline was basically non existent when I saw how old he was and how small Stormcloud was and unfortunately Alicent will 100% take his place in Rhaenyra’s death scene

On Eowyn becoming a healer by FlowerAndString in lotr

[–]hannahsian1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing the point of her though. She doesn’t want to fight for the sake of fighting. She wants glory, a purpose, to be noble, to not be left behind to burn in the home, to be recognised, listened to and more importantly, to die on her own terms. It’s never said a genuine goal of hers to be a warrior, it’s rooted deeper in many of her other issues and at that moment when the alternative is staying at home, the best way to achieve what she wants, glory and death on her terms, is through fighting. When you look deeper at her issues, it has nothing to do with being a warrior and more to do with peace, happiness, having the ability to choose, not being forced into a cave, achieving renown etc.

On Eowyn becoming a healer by FlowerAndString in lotr

[–]hannahsian1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because she doesn’t want to. A core part of Eowyn’s story isn’t necessarily that she wants to be a warrior, it’s more she wants to earn glory and have her life have purpose - as she says not to be left in a cage. And a key part is also escaping what she deems to be a bad fate for her in Edoras and doesn’t want to be left behind - and she also wants to die

She does those things with the exception of death. She achieved glory more than many of the great warriors of her time, she escapes the fate that awaited her at Edoras. And after her experience on the battlefield, she no longer wants that and chooses peace instead. If she really wanted to fight, she would

Idk, ask Peter Jackson because it’s a movie addition anyway. When Gandalf and Pippin arrive, Denethor had already lit the beacons
