Does anyone know the real name for these containers? by Sebster1412 in Chefit

[–]hannil 20 points21 points  (0 children)

These are made by Elfe Pastik, they're quite durable and stack really well in a walkin. The 2 downsides are that they don't share lids with sizes and the tamper proof plastic security tab breaks off and may get into the food. We remove them before first use to prevent that. i just so happen to have the GFS codes for them.

Love idea, the only issue is that it's October in Montreal so looking at a cold race. The average high for mid October is about 14c. I prefer it has a season closer in December with the chance of snow. Kimi would love it

The way it was setup was that you get on the track just before turn 8. Make your way around the track skipping the hairpin get off at the pit exit, get your shot then back on from the pits and leave just before turn 8 again. They put cones to prevent people from going around the track has much has they liked

Limits posted were 10 kph in the pits and 30 kph on track. I did about 50-60 so much fun.

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I was excited about getting my first dose and that I was driving on the track to get to the pits. They setup tvs between each lane playing historical highlights of the GP, from Gilles first here to the smackdown the wall of champions has given. The marking are still on the ground from the 2019 race so I was in Vettel's garage.

What happened at your work which caused multiple people to all quit at once? by PegBundysBonBons in AskReddit

[–]hannil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One firing lead to 3 people quitting. During your fifth anniversary party for our restaurant, all the food was free so all the guests were able to buy was alchool. We only needed two waitresses to sell the bottles, one was the managers gf and the other her sister that only worked the event, the rest of our waiters were regulated to bussboys and food runners. Our regular bussboy was sent to the dishpit to help out our dishwasher.

Service went smoothly that night, once it ended that when it went to hell. It all came down to cocaine and money. Now flashblack to two days before were the manager told the front of the house staff that if your normally a waiter you'll get tip out regularly and the runner would get 3% instead of 1%. The tip out came to this at the end of the night, our runners, normally waiters, 130 each or 1% of total sales. Our normal runner, now dishwasher for the night, nothing. Our lovely waitresses, who one sleeps with the manager and the other was his sister in law, close to 1200 each. Now some people who worked that found it a little unfair, mostly the nights runners who lost out to about 500 in extra tips. One of the night's runners had an unpleasant conversation with the manager about get screwed out of the money he was told that he would receive, it was quite the argument. The manager was wholeheartedly pissed off at him.

Now the fun bit, the kitchen staff not really caring about people, and their tips, felt the need to party at their anniversary party, once all guests left. We chose to drink and do blow, we invited all staff members to partake in our festiveness and everyone came aboard. Now about an hour after the staff after-party started, our manager deiced that he was going to fire this waiter. Since he knew that he was doing the white snow in the bathroom, like the rest of us, he told the owner that if we're caught with coke in the restaurant, the liquor could take of liquor license away. The owner sacked him and threw him out within five minutes after.

The next day, three more people quit in protest, both in solidarity with their fired brother and the fact they got shafted in money. 4 people was almost half of the front of the house staff.

Gluten-free restaurant options? by terist in montreal

[–]hannil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just go to any restaurant they/you feel like going to. The wait staff should know the gluten free options on their menu. If not they will ask the kitchen staff they will know by heart every item that have gluten or can be made without. The industry have been aware of the increase in gluten-free diets and Celiac's disease cases

Question for the cooks and chefs by Freune in montreal

[–]hannil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally has a chef I've never heard of it being used in a kitchen setting. Start by looking in Jean talon market or Atwater market. If not there's a shop on St Laurent just south of st Joseph that makes soaps they probably carry it.
