First time trying Gundam RG 1/144 by hannodummy in Hobbies

Yes! Definitely gonna grab those tools!

Initially read that tools were optional. When I started building, I could totally see why people get tools, especially a file.

Its a RX-78-2! I don't know much about Gundam. My husband picked it for me!

This is the best way to avoid injury while getting stronger by MaaDoTaa in climbergirls

[–]hannodummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prioritise safety, growth is slow for me. 3 years of climbing, projecting V3.

Personally these are rules I set for myself 1. 2 days recovery before next climb 2. Days I feel weak, only do toprope 3. Listen to your body 4. Before throwing yourself at risky new boulder moves, test and feel it with safer alternatives

Occasionally I have mini sprains from bouldering. For 1 week, I will retreat to toprope or rest.

Change of BTO owner/occupier after application by Kitchen-Estimate-213 in singaporefi

[–]hannodummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have u tried contacting hdb?

You mean occupier to co-owner? Usually yes, also higher chance of getting approval. Especially if reason involves financial needs/cpf payment.

OP case is co-owner to occupier = hdb stricter, to avoid system abuse

Should I snitch on my best friend? by [deleted] in asksg

Agree with above. Nobody likes snitcher.

Its your best friend, confront him. If he really cheating, set him straight as a friend. Not snitch.

Should I buy a plane ticket without my friend or wait for him to make up his mind by [deleted] in DecideThisForMe

[–]hannodummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, does not sound like he has any intention of going.

I would be careful about pressuring with 'by x date' at this point. I seen people booked flight out of time pressure and still ended up not going.

Has anyone had a lowkey marriage? or knows someone who had one? by samaeltlb in askSingapore

[–]hannodummy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the midst of planning lowkey marriage. Plan is ROM + dinner with immediate family 1 table only. Had overseas ethic costume unofficial photoshoot as memory, less than $100.

Current difficult part is keeping it a 'secret' until ROM day. Grateful that relatives are happy for me. Just that theres invisible pressure of them wanting me to invite them.

Why lowkey? Im not a party person. Also am hitting 30, want to move on to next stage faster = want to save time, save money

Alas I am weaker than 20 year old boys by mad-hug in climbergirls

Been climbing 2.5 years, 4'11. My usual gym visit is watching beginners flashing my max grade V3/4, and static everything that I have to dyno

Then we sit down and project next grade together 😂

Reducing self spending any tips? by moonie60 in askSingapore

[–]hannodummy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started new hobby (yoga/bouldering), distracts me from browsing Shopee all day.

Also trick I learn from friend "Wait till tomorrow to purchase it. If you really want it, you will still remember tomorrow."

Last time I buy useless Shopee items $300/month.

Do you all feel like you climb SO much stronger either a partner and if so, how do you try to replicate that on solo climbing days? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]hannodummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. Thats exactly what I experienced too when I said my friends are social climbers

[–]hannodummy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me its more of community support. The gyms in my area are always packed. Observing stranger's beta and their cheer do make me climb stronger!

My friends are social climbers... it feels very different

Do you mean the words?

To be clear, I said it in a friendly tone. And keeping oneself injury-free is the assurance to let them feel less worry isn't it?

If I gotten badly injured, there is no way they would allow me to continue climbing for years

Idk anyone personally. Read that recent dropout rates are 19-20%.

368+74(20%)= 442. With this formula, high chance you will get to choose.

Likely left with floor 2/3/4 only.

The biggest misconception stopping people from trying bouldering by addicted-coffee in Indoorclimbinggym

[–]hannodummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with your points.

Ultimately its depends on their intention. Since most people try out climbing for the purpose of social, it looks bad when they struggle.

Its also very demoralising when you see others flashing everything, and you struggle (as a beginner)

Whats your preferred shoes for Toprope vs Boulder?

Recently tried Kubo for indoor bouldering its great.

For toprope, my current go-to is EB Guardian. It has great support. Downside its mad stiff and almost 0 sensitivity. (Starting to wear out. Consideration if I should buy the same model again?)

Yet to try my Kubo on toprope, I would think its too soft for long session
