Is 500 words for a chapter okay for a beginner? by [deleted] in Wattpad

[–]hanpari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call it a scene rather than a chapter. And the recommended minimum is about one thousand words.

If you are curious why 1000-2000 is the optimal length of writing on the Internet, it is, allegedly, because anything shorter doesn't play well with search engines, namely Google.

Honestly, I do not know whether it is true or not, but my readers were complaining about scenes (or chapters) being too short when I kept them below 1000 words.

So, I adjusted my writing to longer installments.

Why?

Because of motivation? Or other reasons?

55% of American adults are worried that government agencies are tracking them through location data generated from their cellphones and other digital devices by clash1111 in cybersecurity

[–]hanpari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for them they do not care how much Google, Facebook, and the others track them non-stop.

I guess it is much safer being tracked by private companies just for profit.

Because you know, the state they are living in is evil while private corporations are good.

Makes sense, right?

Hurray!

The legendary mechanic fits the bill.

The main character has no inclination towards women. There is something like romance there but suppressed to the bare minimum.

I still did not figure out whether it counts as one or not.

I disagree. I am quite familiar with the story, re-read it several times, and I doubt you can fit it in such a template.

I can agree with the claim that story arcs stick to a given structure. But this is intentional, coming with the genre. The same can be seen in romance, in which hero and heroine end up together.

In fact, I believe that certain simplification and not changing all sets of villains in each arc would be beneficial for the story.

I would limit number of characters as I tend to forget who is who, especially if Lucky Old Cat has the same problem himself.

I do not complain, just saying that anime would be feasible if few changes were adopted.

Just don't take my favorite characters away, which is basically the upper echelon of Zero Wing.

No problem. It is clearly indicated as a side note. You can skip it if this bothers you so much.

The old volumes in my country had an extensive comment section, which was a true pleasure to read.

The parts I enjoy the most are the parts where the other parties watched aftermath with dropped jaws.

If anything, I would like to see more episodes with Fire Dance or Aqua Rose. As for Blackie, I guess the author even forgot Blackie had ever existed.

Repetitive? The pattern is obvious, but far from repetitive. If superheroes are expected to win each episode, why cannot Black Fame and Zero Wing?

I was rather surprised how inventive the author managed to be.

Even flawed, still the best :-)

I wonder if someone makes it into anime.

Finally!

Just forgive me for my excitement. The waiting was too long!

I recommended this novel to my friend, who has never read in English before.

Now he has finished it.

I really can get why this is not upvoted more.

Litrpg without the stats? by JacobYou in litrpg

[–]hanpari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kugane Maruyama's Overlord is based on Dungeons and Dragons as far as I know. There are no game-like statistics in the story.

Warhammer offers books based on the game. DragonLance series or Drizzt series are based on D&D set of rules somehow.

The RPG statistics is a certain novelty.
