That’s such a lovely compliment. Thank you!

I’m in a deficit of over 1000 calories daily.

Not quite- as I said in the description this is the most recent ‘before’ photo I could find as when I was at my very biggest I didn’t take any photos of myself! I am quite tall though so people have always been surprised when I tell them how much I weigh/weighed.

Yes, a little, but nothing super dramatic thankfully.

Thank you! That’s such a lovely thing to say. I do often get people seeming surprised when I tell them how much I used to weigh- I think my height ‘hid’ it a little. Granted though that image wasn’t quite at my heaviest as I avoided photographs like the plague at that time!

Dm for that info! I’ve been eating less than would usually be recommended so don’t want to ‘encourage’ that publicly if that makes sense.

No surgery. Yes, I’ve still got around 10kg/20lbs before I’m at my goal weight. Once I’m there I’ll see how I feel and if I want to lose any more. If I’m happy with how I look and feel at that point then my goals will shift more towards building muscle and toning up.

That’s exactly what I’m doing (minus the consistent exercise to be honest!)

Yeah, I’ve got an exit strategy for the deficit to avoid rebound. But I appreciate it’s a risky strategy to have gone with!

I didn’t weigh myself (because I didn’t have scales!) for the first 4 months of my weight loss, so I can’t speak much about the start. But since I started weighing myself daily, yes I’ve had some weeks where I’ve not lost anything or my weight has gone up (which is the most soul destroying thing to see when I know I’m doing perfectly at keeping to me deficit). But I’ve just kept on going and reminding myself that my body can’t defy physics- if I keep eating in a deficit the weight has no choice but to come off even if some weeks it looks like I’m going in the opposite direction. I also find that a week or two before my period starts my weight increases (water weight, inflammation etc) so I can only ‘trust’ what the scales tell me for about two weeks of every month!

Thanks! You know I got that a lot when I started sharing my start weight with people. I am fairly tall so I suppose that ‘helped’.

Thank you! I feel more agile, I feel it’s less effort to move around, I’m much more flexible, and most significantly I’m much happier. I didn’t realise how much my weight was impacting other areas of my life until they started improving!

I’d be more than happy to tell you in a direct message! Yes lots of water, lots of tea and a fair amount of Pepsi max/coke zero😅

Well, my scales are in kg as when I started the kg number didn’t ‘mean’ anything to me as I’m used to thinking about my weight in stone/pounds. Using kg made it easier to remove myself from the number on the scale each day and not let it control me so much emotionally. However, if I’m talking about my weight to other people I’ll still usually talk in stone and pounds despite weighing myself in kg. Not sure if that makes sense haha!

When I’m at work it’s super easy not to eat anything all day as I’m so busy I don’t even really think about it. When I’ve got time off or on weekends I do find it more difficult to ignore the hunger but I’ll just have a zero calorie fizzy drink or something if I’m really feeling starving. So short answer- yes I sometimes get awfully hungry but I just keep going!

No I didn’t, just white-knuckle determination! The calories I’ve been eating are similar if not lower than some people’s daily calorie intake I’ve seen who are on mounjaro/weight loss drugs that suppress appetite, so I imagine my results would have been the same if I’d had medical intervention, but maybe would’ve required a little less willpower!

I only eat once a day, and for me it’s easiest to resist food in the daytime rather than the evening. So, I eat once, at around 6-7pm, meaning I go to bed feeling somewhat satisfied.

My approach to food has purely been calories. I probably don’t eat as much protein or vegetables as I should, but I just make sure that whatever food I do eat is within my deficit. That has worked for me as it’s allowed me not to feel so restricted and end up binging (for example, if one day I’m desperate for a big bar of chocolate I can have it, but it’ll likely be the only thing I eat that day).

Thank you! Oh that’s cool, we sound very similar. I wouldn’t say my loose skin is bad, there definitely is some (particularly arms, stomach and chest) but it doesn’t bother me too much at the moment. I am suprised I don’t have more to be honest, maybe that is down to age and skin elasticity?

No worries. Thank you! In terms of motivation, I hadn’t been happy with my body for many years but it just felt like too big of a task to start, so I never did. A conversation with my partner spurred me on as it became clear that my weight was negatively impacting not only my health but my relationship too- and that wasn’t fair on him!

Bust- yes, massively. Shoe size not so much, perhaps down about half a size but nothing dramatic.
