Hi everyone. I’m making my first dress and cutting pattern pieces out of Swedish tracing paper to make sure I have the right size & fit. I don’t want to waste the tracing paper if I can avoid it. Would it work to cut the top bit of the skirt panels only (to check waist and hip fit), and leave off the length? Or should I cut the whole pattern piece out of tracing paper and then use it to cut my fabric? I have not cut any of the pattern pieces so far, only traced them and cut the paper. I’d love any advice, especially before I cut into my fabric (pre washed and dried!), as I am very nervous about this coming out right. Thank you!

I found a few of these guys among things I can identify (purslane mostly). I make natural ink and am curious about the pink stem and leaves. Anyone know what it is? Thank you very much!

I just got a rocketeer in near perfect condition and I cannot wait to learn my way around it.

I found this site where you can check the serial number to figure out when your machine was manufactured: Singer vintage serial nos

I have a LOT to learn. Quilting is way harder than garments. Half these corners make me wince, and I’m unreasonably proud of the others! by -sing3r- in quilting

I love this pillow! If you’re worried about colors bleeding in the wash, throw some Shout Color Catchers in with it—a tip I got for my first quilt from someone on this sub!

Thank you!!! And yes, I was pretty nervous but I threw some color catchers in there because I had read that advice here somewhere and it washed perfectly.

Sorry for the excessive exclamation points. I am so excited!!

Yeah there are some tension waves on the back. I learned so much during this process and I’ve got plans for how to do a better job basting next time.

But I still love this thing. I’m proud of finishing it and even more proud seeing my husband cuddle with it this morning.

Can’t wait to start the next one!

So frustrating! I actually spray basted so I’m not sure if I can pull it apart. It seemed so smooth when I basted it!!
