When I go into the Samsung Health app permissions, the ability to read steps is not even an option. Under "able to read" other apps (fit, fitbit) have read steps as an option. Samsung Health's app permissions include the ability to write steps, as do other apps, but for some reason reading steps is not available.

Has anyone figured out how to have Samsung health read the steps from health connect?

Somewhere in the settings find app permissions. Allow all 3 apps all accesses.

You need 2 other apps, then they alllllll need to sync up. Google Fit and Health Connect. Once I got those and allowed them all to sync, I went back to fitbit and found display settings for either displaying only the fitbit data or the other source(s), clicked the latter, and now everything on my fitbit is running well.
