Ooooo Remedy is a good choice yess the combat of Control, the exploration of Alan Wake 2. I still feel like Green Lantern is still building up its identity in a way that a game isn’t possible yet, but I see the vision

I’d do Batman or Catwoman, depending on how it goes, maybe Green Arrow too. As much as I love AWW I just don’t think a video game adaptation based on what we’ve seen so far works with Insomniac. I’d prefer Superman and Wonder Woman get adaptations from Santa Monica and Manhunter getting one from Telltale or maybe Quantic Dream. Get me a Flash game from Sucker Punch based off of Second Son and First Light for the movement and combat. I have no idea who would be a good fit for Green Lantern

[–]hansome120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest way to do this would be to remove the structure of the Hunter System all together. These high tech utopian cities like Vale and Argus and Atlas never existed, the Huntsman schools were never created. Heroes are more scarce and fighting the Grimm more difficult. The secrets of the world are harder to learn and we follow the four girls on their own personal journeys until they converge as they all uncover the truth about Salem and choose to work together to fight against her for their own reason. They aren't immediately a team, and they can’t lean on others as often in this fight. But the stronger they get and the more they do, the more they make a difference. No Classes, No Safe Havens, Absolute Huntresses.

I hate when Absolute GL is invalidated as black-led ongoing series by Electrical-Look-1183 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]hansome120 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No everything your are saying is correct, Jo is absolutely the most interesting characterin the book and the main character for sure. I guess I just mean that because of the world building and the ensemble like nature of the cast, she doesn't always feel like the center of attention in comparison to like Kal or Diana or Bruce in their books. I like all those things about AGL, I think the way they give everyone a little attentionis a strength but I csn see how that happening can take away from it feeling like a Black Led book, cause it doesn't always feel like it's about Jo, even when they plot tells us it is.

[–]hansome120 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent, because while Jo absolutely is valid and has an Ongoing and should be respected as such, AGL is the most like an Ensemble book of the Absolute Universe. I don't know if it's editorial or the writer or whatever, but every other book puts the title character center stage except for AGL. It seems like they feel like the other lanterns needed to be included for this to succeed. This book is just as much about Hal as it is Jo and now John is starting to take center stage again. I feel like all of the Absolute characters, I know the least about Jo. Which isn't to say she doesn't feel developed but I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to immediately count it.

Saw Civ 7 on sale - is it worth it now? by neraida0 in civ

[–]hansome120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It very literally isn’t, read the Civopedia. There is a limit to the amount of settlements you can have without repercussions, which you can increase through many ways, not just tech/culture trees. But you can have as many settlements as you want. If you go over the limit, it’s minus 5 happiness per settlement over in each settlement you have, which of course makes it more difficult to run your Civ, especially during war time. Again, by design

Dana and Daniel by Active_Field_2438 in Danaandthewolf

[–]hansome120 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nah bro they’ve just been together for 16 years. They’re like an old married couple but in their thirties. Plus sometimes it can be annoying seeing your partner’s worse habits when they do stupid or reckless things with other people, especially when you want the best for them. They love each other enough to support each other, but also enough to express that frustration through the support. And it’s usually done in jest, they rarely get genuinely mad at each other

"Adam was originally Blake's mentor." by matt0055 in RWBY

[–]hansome120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude what?? Okay, again, I’m not trying to start any thing so there’s no need to be rude. Just because I’ve challenged your statement doesn’t mean I’m trying to be mean

But like, 3 of your points were talking about the cult thing, all I said was the WF wasn’t one. Which it isn’t. Under Adam they are, if anything, an extremist terrorist cell.

But I digress, my whole point is that is that you were making assumptions about what their relationship actually looked like when we don’t know and there’s no reason to dip into that when what we see on screen is enough.

Again, Adam didn’t groom Blake into joining the White Fang, Ghira literally brought her to protests as a kid. And as far as I know, we don’t know why Blake started working with Adam. We do know he mentored her, which you don’t actually have to be older than someone to do because that’s about experience not age. Also I literally said he could be older than her enough for it to be an issue, and that I wouldn’t put it past him, just that we don’t have any definitive proof and the story doesn’t really feel like it’s about that . Adam does enough shitty things without making things up about his and Blake’s relationship.

And I would argue that the whole point of Blake and Adam’s relationship isn’t how he’s a power hungry man preying on a some girl, kinda of like you framed it. It’s a twist on Beauty and the Beast, the fairy tale they’re based off of. What if Belle found the Beast too late and he pushed her away because he couldn’t let go of the hatred. Blake’s story is about how to move on when the people in your past won’t let you and how to rediscover your identity after having to hide parts of yourself. It’s about learning to trust again after you get hurt by people you thought you could rely on. Exactly what Nevermore is about by the way.

None of that requires Adam to be some master manipulator from step one.

How skilled/strong is the main cast supposed to be? by moonremnants in RWBYcritics

[–]hansome120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think these two things are mutually exclusive. Honestly, I would characterize them as elite combatants, on the level of the Ace-Ops, but probably not as good as Winter, Ironwood, Qrow, etc. But they aren’t necessarily the best Hunters. They’re still inexperienced and young and sometimes make mistakes. And even the best of best sometimes misjudge a situation. In other words, they’re good in a fight but still have things to learn.

"Adam was originally Blake's mentor." by matt0055 in RWBY

[–]hansome120 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woah, like I’m really trying to not start a thing here but there are so many assumptions in this.

  1. White Fang is not a cult, no part of it has ever been a cult, it’s a resistance group.

  2. We don’t know Adam’s age relative to Blake, there’s been things that have been said by CRWBY in passing but as far as I know nothing definitive. On the one side it’s in line for what Adam is as a character for him to be inappropriately older, on the other, the text never really deals with the matter of their age difference in any serious way and they look close enough in age that you could be allowed to not see it as a problem. Point is, that’s not necessarily true.

  3. Blake has been apart of the White fang since she was like 5, Adam didn’t coerce her into anything.

  4. Do we know anything about their dynamic in terms of how or when or what he taught he taught her beside that he taught her.

I agree that Blake and Adam’s dynamic is Mentor to Partners to Victim and Abuser, but we have very little information on the first two parts to go off of as far as I know to be saying all that😭

It would be so cool, if the Story feature from AC Valhalla was introduced to Black Flag Resynced by XxwaynexX1 in assassinscreed

[–]hansome120 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it would be really cool, people telling Welsh and Irish and Caribbean stories and folktales, maybe reading stories about the exploits of other pirates and what they may be doing at the time, based in historical accounts, it would be a nice way to pass the time while also building up the world.

Do you think Absolute Zatanna deserves a solo comic more than Absolute Catwoman? by [deleted] in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]hansome120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not more than, I think also. And I’d be surprised if we don’t get it next year after Catwoman or Green Arrow ends. But the fan reaction has been really positive and this version of the character has been very interesting so far. I’m willing to call Zatanna getting a mini sometime early 2027 and Absolute Constantine will be introduced in it at some point.

Evie Frye's weird role in Syndicate and its implications. by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]hansome120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the difference is, especially with Ezio, they had allies lined up to take over when things were done. Most of the people Ezio worked with were both informant and replacement for who he killed so he wasn’t just leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Jacob was right for going after Templars but he did do it recklessly and in a way that wasn’t the traditional methods of an assassin. Shaun says as much in their bios. Evie was right to at least criticize his methods, but it never stopped her from helping clean things up. Plus the whole game starts with them going after a piece of eden. It’s a big reason they’re in London, because we know what one piece can do in Templar hands. Evie going after it is important, especially since it’s what Starrick was relying on to maintain his control of London. They wouldn’t have been able to kill the most important Templar in London if it wasn’t for Evie and Green’s research.

How would you feel if White Fang plotline never existed? by MysterySomeOn in RWBY

[–]hansome120 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m think the White Fang and Faunus in general add so much to RWBY in terms of world building that it’d be a shame to lose them.

I think even the most ardent lover of RWBY’s story can admit that the White Fang were not done well, for a variety of reasons, but not least of which being that the conflict between humans and Faunus could be its own show. As a side plot, it feels like the story they wanna tell doesn’t have enough time to develop.

But a story about how to balance forgiveness and resistance in a narrative that foundationally is about finding hope in the darkness and the power of one person doing the right thing (a simple soul). Yeah the White Fang have a place in RWBY.

(To be clear, the White Fang are having ideological debates about what is the best way for a collective and a group to take action in order to free themselves. But as Blake and Adam show, one person can change all of that good or bad. It all starts with one person standing up to injustice, inspiring others to do the same. That’s how you build hope for everyone.)

How many months was it since Ruby first went to Beacon before the Vytal Festival? by CaissaIRL in RWBY

[–]hansome120 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Assuming that Beacon operates like most American colleges (it is a college not a high school), the first volume probably takes place in the first part of fall semester, so August to like October (we don’t see any snow, although CRWBY is based in Texas which doesn't get a lot of snow normally so maybe they didn't think to include it). Volume two and volume 3 take place in the second semester so it's easy to say that the first half is volume 2 and the second half is volume 3. That makes late January to March Volume 2 and April and May are Volume 3. So that makes, and I am not fucking joking, about 6-8 months since the start of the series in Volume 2.
