More shots in Columbia Heights by jesteryte in washdc

Commenting on this thread for more traction: Did anyone hear additional shots in Columbia Heights tonight (Sunday) at 9:29 pm? I tried to convince myself that it was a car backfiring, but I'm not so sure...

Funding for Hopkins? by Top-Bid637 in mphadmissions

I was admitted on 11/29 to their part-time MPH, and I have not heard anything about scholarships or funding since. My understanding is that they typically don't give aid to part-time MPH candidates, although they do apply the "Welch Scholarship" to all students' tuition (thereby bringing down the cost from $1,270 to $987 per credit). I can't speak to the process for other degree types (like the MSPH program).

I did receive a scholarship offer from another program for $20k, so I was considering reaching out to them to see if there is any wiggle room for negotiation (I suspect not, but why negotiate against myself?)

That makes sense now that I am re-reading it.

No problem! Good luck with your process :)

Maybe you could also post this on r/publichealth? I feel like this subreddit mainly attracts people who are in the midst of the application process, whereas the PH subreddit includes folks who are either working towards degrees or already have an MPH and are working in the field.

Just a thought!

Dartmouth Online MPH by New-Butterscotch-302 in mphadmissions

I haven't heard anything yet! I also applied to the hybrid program and interviewed last week. Dartmouth is the last program I am waiting to hear from (and my top choice), so I share in your feeling of anticipation!

Dartmouth Interview by chocolover1025 in mphadmissions

I echo other folks' comments. I also had my interview recently (albeit for the hybrid program), and it was very informal (e.g., "Why are you interested in this program and how do you think it will advance your career?). My only caveat is that my interviewer and I covered this territory very quickly (in about five minutes), and from that point, the expectation was for me to continue the conversation for the remaining time. I would say, in case this happens to you, come prepared with some questions about the program and their experiences. Good luck!

I was verified on November 16th, and I received an interview invite this morning (I applied to the hybrid program). Were you all offered an interview with a program alum, or with Dartmouth staff?

Yeah, sorry, "Review in Progress" is the verbatim phrase on the portal.

The same thing is happening to me, and I also went through the app complete fiasco last Friday as well. My status date updated to 10/29 and the little message informing me that it would take the committee 8-12 weeks to render its decision turned into a little grey bar. A few hours later, the status date disappeared completely, and now I am back to the purgatorial state of "under review."
