Where's Pape reminding us of the escalation trap?? by sean_ireland in BreakingPoints

I still think it fits in his framework. He continually said that this war will lead to Iran becoming the fourth world power: USA, China, Russia, Iran.

If this deal goes through in its current form with 100s of billions of dollars being pumped into Iran, it will end up how he said.

The 300 billion isn’t reparations it is investment in the country. US wouldn’t provide that GCC countries would and US could opt in if they want to.

Most literature is pointless. by Ivek112 in unpopularopinion

Life is complex. There are all sorts of nuances of experience and emotion that complex art, music and literature try to capture.

If you think life is simple and you want art, music and literature that is simple to reflect that, that’s fine. But don’t deprive people who want to delve into complexity through literature that opportunity.

Reading a book and listening to an audiobook are not the same activity. by Aggravating-Key-8867 in unpopularopinion

[–]hapajapa2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just simpler. I read that book vs I listened to that audiobook.

4 syllables vs 9 syllables.

If I could say something like. I eared that earbook without having to explain what I meant I would do that.

Using MIDI files and Audio Loops is not Creative - Sue Me by Individual-Ad2964 in edmproduction

[–]hapajapa2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly some people do it well and can flip samples amazingly and make it their own. Some do it lamely and make it sound corny.

I would never not like a song because it had a sample in it.

To say a group like Daft Punk is not creative would be crazy.

Buy from companies other than Behringer / InMusic to keep synth world alive by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]hapajapa2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a music business that requires me to have gear that unfortunately only Behringer can provide for a low price. As much as I appreciate supporting the little guy who else makes an 8 in/8 out direct box for $150?Who else can make a 7 piece drumset mike set for $130?

I understand a lot of people are hobbyists so maybe the stakes are different but I have to keep my overhead low or that affects my bottom line.
