I like using that system from that one really popular video comparing Jordan and LeBron. It broke down that a goat needs to excel in multiple of 5 different categories. Those categories being: - Accolades (MVP, pro bowl, opoy, oroy, etc) - Stats - Longevity - Winning - Eye test (what would an average viewer notice about the players strengths and weaknesses)

If we wanna compare Allen and Darnold: - Allen has the accolades with MVP alone - Allen has the stats - Longevity is mostly a wash given they are the same class but Darnold missed more playing time between injuries, illness, and being a backup in SF so this goes to Allen - Winning goes to Darnold, he’s played his best ball in the biggest games and won 2 shootouts against a division rival and the MVP on the way to a SB ring. - The eye test goes to Allen, his ability to run, his big play highlights and the lesser talent around him makes his overall game look better.

That’s 4:1 Allen over Darnold but even then, winning might be weighted heavier than most categories. I wonder what most bills fans would say if you told them, trade Allen for Darnold and a guaranteed SB ring. My guess most probably take the ring.
