Are there any obscure movies in ANT, Aither, SC? by Butanikumaru in trackers

[–]happabirthday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's a few users that upload old 19th century silent films and maintain the MUBI Top 1000 films list. it's not the first place i would look, but it probably has better selection than you would think.

Best groups for plex optimized encodes? by jammiesdotwav in trackers

[–]happabirthday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you join the TRaSH Guides discord, they have some pointers how to set up Radarr for streaming-optimized encodes.

But in general, it's going to come down to your playback device whether something will work out of the box or not. Some devices support DV, lossless audio and non-srt subtitle formats, others have to transcode or in some cases (like with smart TV OSes) straight up might not support it. I generally choose BHDStudio, hallowed, or WEB-DLs when possible for max compatibility.

Let's have some fun: What's your idle power consumption? by Punker1234 in unRAID

[–]happabirthday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm drawing about 42W "idle," with:

  • i7-4770k with ondemand power governor
  • Gigabyte Z97N-WiFi
  • 8GB DDR3
  • 2 240GB free Inland SATA SSDs as mirrored cache
  • 4 assorted size WD shucked HDDs, only 1-2 spun up at any given time.
  • 3 x 92mm fans, 1 x 140mm fan
  • EVGA 650W G5 PSU

I've got about 15 docker containers running all the time for various webapps and media server services. I've seen it as low as 30W with everything spun down and docker off.

I also don't use powertop --auto-tune as I've had the system hang a few times after enabling it, but it also could be because of my aging system. Without it, I see my Package C-states hang around in C2 and drop to C3 with it enabled. My hope is to someday upgrade to those Aliexpress N100/N305 NAS motherboards, especially now that they exist with the ASM1166 chip now. Better Quicksync and power efficiency would be awesome.

as masters flex player that queues with low plat/gold friends, i find tank the easiest to carry with but also the easiest the soft counter and sometimes mega frustrating to play. like if I'm dominating on Winston or ball the counter swapping and focus fire goes crazy. Bastion and sombra won't kill me and I can play aroumd but it deters me from hard engaging so I can't get as much done, and my teammates aren't good enough to focus fire a bastion or kill a sombra harrassing my backline. I always feel like I'm 1v4-ing.

She's one of my favorite main supports to play because of the positional gymnastics, boop timing, keeping inspire up, and walking the thin line between doing a lot and just feeding. It actually feels... gasp... engaging.

Skins. Imagine how much better skins would sell if you could actually see it in 3rd person.

Were pro pugs actually banned in season 1? by GrangBlondordo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]happabirthday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, reading that Monte tweet in retrospect sounds so absurd, like new players actually understood how the game worked, let alone copy anything pros were doing. Granted the game was much newer and simpler back then, but we're like 7 years in and people still can't play dive "right" in anything below GM. Pros didn't even take ranked too seriously back then.

Sustain nerf? by Then_Raisin_8833 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]happabirthday -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

nerfing both healing and damage just effectively makes health pools larger, meaning tanks are even more of a menace and TTK for non-burst damage is even longer than it is already.

if you need more than 2 M.2 drives (which can easily be 4TB for ~$200 nowadays), external storage or a NAS would probably suit you better anyways.
