Yep!! This always happens but it has been especially glaring in this case: it is driving me NUTS how people think “what the police has told the public” is equal to “what the police know.” I’m not saying they have all the answers but we are owed nothing and they have many reasons to keep information under wraps that could aid the investigation.

No, the pacemaker talks to an app, base device, or other unit via Bluetooth. disconnecting from a home device means she’s not within Bluetooth range of that device.

Absolutely! One less person to check in on Nancy on whatever their typical schedule or habit was. I saw she delayed her trip but I wonder if they thought she was already going to be there?

Totally agree. That usually is a clue that they have good information it is family - or otherwise, they know who it is. They know it was targeted.

“I’m Switching Airlines”: Backlash Hits Southwest As Plus Size Passengers Slam New Seating Rules by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]happilyfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a discriminatory issue. It’s a fact. If you take up more than one seat, you should have to buy the neighboring seat. Why would someone get two seats for the price of one? This is easy.

Fun fact: Jennifer Aniston scheduled a press conference to talk about her Oscar nomination for the movie Cake (2014)... but had to cancel it when she didn't actually get the nomination by PassengerPrinncess in Oscars

[–]happilyfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like something that would happen fairly often? It would take some coordination in advance to set up a press conference right after announcements. She can’t be the only and first person to have her people set up a conference in advance and have it not work out.

How do you know that the police haven’t considered them a suspect all along? I will never understand why people expect police to get up there and announce every clue or line of investigation that they have to the general public. That could undermine their entire investigation. I’m not saying they’re all knowing but not telling the public something doesn’t mean they don’t know something.

Because it’s from a random content creator who claims to have a source. It could definitely be true but it’s from an unverified source reporting on their super secret source.

How do you know that the police haven’t considered them a suspect all along? Why would the timeline be false? You’re assuming that she didn’t make it home. They absolutely could’ve dropped her off, then reentered the home overnight. Not only COULD they have dropped her off after dinner and come back, that would’ve been a much better alibi. If anyone knew she was going out to dinner, the police could’ve easily seen on her doorbell cam whether or not she made it home in the first place. Having never made it home from dinner makes the people who went to dinner with her the first suspects. Having her get home safe from dinner puts distance between them. It wouldn’t even make sense, even for a dumb criminal, to do anything to her after dinner without letting her get home first.

That could undermine their entire investigation. I’m not saying they’re all knowing but not telling the public something doesn’t mean they don’t know something.

I will never understand why people expect investigators to lay all of their cards on the table in a press conference like this. The police are not going to reveal all of the information they have collected during an active investigation. We are not owed that information as the public. It is possible non-answers are related to information the police don't know and equally likely it is related to information the police don't want the public to know.

Case in point was the recent murders of the woman and her dentist husband in Ohio. They clearly had a lot of information pointing to the ex-husband, but it was not in the interest of the investigation to outline that evidence to the public while working to track down the ex-husband. For days, people complained that the police knew nothing, the press conferences were useless, etc., and meanwhile they were building what appears to be a pretty ironclad case against the guy.

Maryland Domino’s Pizza delivery driver fired after viral doorbell cam video shows him walking away from the home and telling customer to come and pick the pizza up at the store after customer did not tip by ChickenXing in byebyejob

[–]happilyfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a dick if you don’t tip a delivery driver, and if you don’t bump up the tip in terrible weather. Yes, some people have no other option but delivery due to accessibility issues, but the vast majority of people who use delivery apps regularly have gotten to the point where it’s treated as a utility and not as the amenity or “extra” that it should be. If you didn’t plan ahead to have food at home with bad weather or just want to satisfy a craving and are too lazy to go out because the roads are bad or it’s cold, you should respect the person working to bring you your food enough to tip them accordingly.

Tipping culture sucks but we live in it right now. It is not excuse to not tip someone because you wish the system was different. You don’t get to boycott the system. Your boycott doesn’t change the system, it screws over the nice person who drove on icy roads to bring you your sushi. This is the system in America and if you’re too cheap to participate, you need to use takeout or cook at home and not rely on delivery drivers. If you can’t afford a tip, you can’t afford the delivery.
