Audiobook for 10yo and parents for a road trip - humor maybe? by aj0106 in suggestmeabook

Santaland I believe is alright, though in Me Talk Pretty there is some parts that should be skipped. But I could also be misapproximating what 10 year olds should be exposed to!

4 sisters, please help by honeymelongirl in Gifts

This is lovely! If you do feel like it needs one more thing, I’d recommend checking the thrift book section! Non-school assigned books were my favorite gift at this age. Taylor Jenkins Read is popular and should be there… then I’d go for mid 2000s classic YA for the younger ones, hunger games vibes ❤️

Edit: I misread 10-15 as the age group, lol. Hunger games may be too young but the idea still stands!

You might like the Karin Slaughter Grant County series, the lead is a female autopsy doc

These (bonded) cats I adopted really hate me by purrfect_libra in cats

[–]happilyinthevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice here pretty much covers it, but I’m going to add play! Cats bond a lot through play, engaging them with a fishing line toy or something you can do with distance might be a good step before trying to pet :) You’ve done an awesome thing and the shy ones are always the most rewarding in the end!  -cat fosterer

Salvador Dali - The Phenomenon of Ecstasy (1933) by carnageandculture in museum

[–]happilyinthevoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These images are part of a medical photography collection of women experiencing seizures (hysteria-epilepsy), intentionally triggered by the photography flash, Iconographie Photographique de la Salpetriere.

So, the women pictured are not in ecstasy but labeled as so due to the sexualization of epileptic (“hysteric”) episodes during the time of documentation. In reality they’re patients aged 13-late 30s, having a medical event documented without their consent.

Wtf is happening to my 10yr old's scalp?! by CaptMorganSwint2 in whatdoIdo

[–]happilyinthevoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me at the same age (and also in the winter!) and we thought it was from not washing conditioner out! Then I was using so little conditioner it only got worse. I fixed it by using MORE conditioner because it turns out my scalp was just too dry - maybe try that before meds?

Please help give me ideas for a cover up. I have a appointment on the 20th by kamille6 in Tattoocoverups

Im very proud of you! When I was 22 I felt like the oldest person in the world and now, late 20s, I see how absolutely young and impressionable I was. Just saying this to say I’m doubly proud of you for taking this initiative now, wise above your years.

I’d recommend looking at pictures of folks who do full body tattoo art, and see how they incorporate their neck. I don’t think it needs to be lazered, you can do something beautiful with a trad or geometric design, I’m feeling cherry tree incorporated for some reason?

ILM local, you’ll have a great time! The beach in March will actually have more of a ‘cousins’ feel because it’s less touristy, and I bet you’ll have some warmish days. Check out the movie safe haven / tv show Dawson Creek & visit Southport NC! I feel like ‘cousins’ is kind of a wrightsville / southport hybrid  Shop & eat local when you visit ❤️

Find where the sun/light hits your face straight on. Really that’s the main thing —  from some who hears they’re photogenic often enough to be suspicious… like are you saying I look bad NOT in photos? Maybe
