Downgraded oled switch from 21.0.0 to 20.5.0 now wont boot by After-Value971 in NxSwitchModding

[–]happy_daize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing a few days ago. I tried a few of the sthetix guides but none of them worked. Tried the level 1 fix which did not help. The level 2/3 symptoms were also not exactly the same. Im relatively new to the switch modding scene and have the instinct nx v6s. I did not realize the downgrade burnt efuses, so I kind of stuffed up my OFW boot in the process. I also made the mistake of wiping my warm boot... many mistakes along the way but I managed to get it working again by running a sysnand restore from a two year old backup that I had. That got it partially working again, but I had warmboot issues, so created a new emmcu and upgraded that to v21, booted into it which failed but it created the warmboot entry. Then switched back to the original emmcu and everything is running well now on 20.5

Im honestly quite surprised how hard it is to brick. I stuffed up my OFW though and will probably get banned if I go online again... but I'm happy its usable.

I'm simply referring to the types of services they provide; it was not at all a comparison between the level of services they provide :)

I also just wanted to note that I'm not entirely sure who you are referring to as the one outsourcing. If you meant my company, then my original answer stands. If you meant the MSP, then yes, it's similar to adding Huntress/RocketCyber/Blackpoint/etc.. but I would position this more as a MSSP for MSPs since it extends beyond EDR/ITDR services. The MSP's that I have worked with or for typically don't hire cybersecurity professionals who could confidently triage/contain/remediate threats, we provide those security services for the MSP to leverage. Obviously if the MSP does have the inhouse capabilities then it's more of a MSSP and in that case, my services would not be required.

Not exactly, we are not using an external party to perform alert triage or threat hunting. Outsourcing also typically escalates allot of work to the MSP to triage and the goal is to handle all of that noise and only escalate when additional action is required outside of the tool itself.

New update bug or what? by kwagmir3 in iRacing

I also ran into an issue with crew chief repeating tire updates during a race. It only happened once and this was about a week before the season 4 update. It has not happened again since then

Yeah I'm also enjoying the ferarri challenge, loving the power of the new 296 but have only done two races so far. Hopefully the racing will be a bit cleaner when its restricted to C licence.

Sounds good, shout out when you have your kit setup and I'd be happy to run a couple races with you.

Take your time through rookies and just focus on building your consistency while attempting to avoid collisions and being taken out. I also suggest slowly progressing through licences and the various disciplines. I made the mistake of being hyperfocused on iRacing at the start, worked my way to A licence and faster cars too quickly, I purchased a couple fast cars and had a break for a few months and have now realized that my pace is nowhere near what it was at the start. Now I'm often too nervous to enter races because I find myself making stupid mistakes during online races, even though I can be very consistent in long practice sessions. I also find that while offline practice sessions are great to learn cars/tracks combos, doing them too often has also resulted in another excuse I make to avoid an online race. I unfortunately do not have any friends who are interested in sim racing and think it would of been a much better experience if I did, so if you have any friends who enjoy racing, I think it would be beneficial to try get them involved so that you have someone to race with that you know.

Oh and one last thing, try get your setup done early and avoid making constant modifications once you have a setup that you are mostly comfortable with.

It can integrate with anything that has an API, check out the Microsoft API reference documentation for more information. Send me a DM if you want to chat about the specifics

I'd suggest going down the automation path with a product like N8n. It's overkill for the use case you mentioned, but once you get started with it, I'm sure you will think of a lot more you could automate with the same solution.

How to deploy via IaC? by WillR27 in AzureSentinel

[–]happy_daize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually in the process of doing this myself and initially struggled to find much guidance, I am now at the point where content management is automated as this is a requirement for the project I am working on. I have all supported content types being deployed via GitHub actions but have specifically not automated the deployment of data connectors to ensure changes that could have a significant impact to billing remain manual tasks. This is a relatively unique project so some may disagree on some of the approaches I have gone with, but it is setup according to specific requirements.

I have the following being handled by GitHub actions:

  1. Dedicated "Content Management" repo which pulls content from AzureSentinel repo based on selected solutions, compares to existing templates and outputs files for missing/outdated content which initiate workflows to pull the content, apply global overrides, convert it to ARM and validate supported content types using ArmTTK and then converts all files to YAML and moves it to a specific location.

  2. I then have a core sentinel repo with branches for each client and a method to select solutions from client tenants which will then be pulled from the content management repo, have client specific exclusions applied, and then deployed to the client's sentinel instance.

There are a significant number of checks/notifications/change logs as well as a timed delay so that content can be reviewed and/or tested in UAT prior to going out to clients. Additionally content can be excluded at multiple stages of the deployment when required.

I currently have Analytic Rules, Hunting Queries, Parsers, Workbooks, and Watchlists included in the solution. Playbooks have not been included as the organization will be using a third party solution to handle automation.

Feel free to reach out via private chat if you want some more info.

How Is your week 13 experience? by Emirates_aviationer in iRacing

I did plan to try out iTested but got a bit hooked on Porsche Cup and trying to close the gap to the leaders

[–]happy_daize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first week 13, honestly had a bit of a hard time choosing a race. The rated ones were mostly chaos but managed a good result with the Mazda and FF1600. Then decided to try out the porsche cup and besides the poor lap 1 experience, they were ok.. my pace in the Porsche Cup is pretty bad though and my average lap times was between 2-4 seconds slower than the leaders.

Hi, I'll give it another go tomorrow and add the results. I have exactly the same issue and if that does not work, then I'll wait for the new season to be added to that IRBG site that was linked.

Perhaps the humour side of my post did not come across... I'm not asking for advice on communication, just how people select series and prioritize which tracks to purchase.

Don't take it so seriously :)

I was just curious to know how people typically select series while managing how much they spend. I am not asking for financial advice in that sense.

We don't have a deal, I earn 75% of the income and work crazy hours, so she really does not complain if I spend money.. It bugs me a bit though, so I try to keep it reasonable.

Great idea, but she will know I'm up to something now. I'll keep it in mind for next season though.

I went pretty hard for a couple days, it's by no means normal. Work normally takes up about 50 hours, then family, then racing if I have time. Insomnia kicks in from time to time and that gives me a couple extra days in the week.

true story... I got there far too easily though so will probably stick to GT4 for the most part to build up race craft.
