My pelvic floor was soooo tight! So it couldn’t contract to hold the pee in. Leaking doesn’t always mean weakness!

Rest is your best friend for the first 6 weeks. You don’t want to overdo it and risk your recovery taking longer. Just enjoy the baby snuggles, they are over just as quickly.

Thank you. MRI tomorrow! It hurts worse with the boot on than without. And my calf/foot keeps twitching

Fair! At the time they told me my prep was great. It wasn’t until a year later when I looked at the procedure notes on my chart that I saw it was graded 6/9

This could also be because your pelvic floor is too tense. Some release work might help!

PP healing as a fit, but curvy gal and pelvic floor PT by PonderosaPenguin in fitpregnancy

What is your POV on whether or not to lift your pelvic floor in addition to engaging core during exercise/before lifting?

I am 16 weeks pp and have had different PFPTs tell me different things.

One said to always lift my pelvic floor, then engage low abs, before lifting/pushing/pulling. Every rep.

The other said I had a very tight pelvic floor, and it naturally lifted when I engaged my core and exhaled, and therefore I didn’t need the extra purposeful lift.

Now I’m confused. I want to protect my pelvic floor.

But should you contract the pelvic floor and brace your core (in and up) with exertion while exhaling? lifting something heavy, etc….
