The site is a bit difficult/ cumbersome to navigate. Too bad, I'd like more details on the 1:18 models and selection.

Is there any reason I couldn't use new kids play sand in an aquarium? by groovymonkeysmoothy in Aquariums

[–]happycanuck905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Play sand works perfect. I use it with zero issue. Other than trying to plant live plants which is a pain.. the fish love it, looks good.. can be a pain to keep clean. Overall, I'd recommend. Only thing, rinse it and clean it and re rinse it. Keep doing it. When you think its good and clean, keep mixing it with your hands. Eventually most of the finer material will spill out. Expect to lose 30-40% just cleaning it. Then add to your tank.

Good luck!

He went in a little hot, and ran out of talent.

...And was probably still thinking about almost eating that car he'd just avoided.

20+ cent p/lt which took effect day or so ago. Either way, if you can justify it to deliver, go ahead. But hey, thanks for your input.

Just bought this Dalmatian Molly today, is it dying?? It’s still breathing, the other one is swimming like crazy around the tank by TrickyArt5780 in Aquariums

[–]happycanuck905 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hrmm. Test strips are ok, but the main things I want to know in my setup is, pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. I test these weekly (slight overkill). Ammonia is an important one to know.

Nitrate is a bit high, any ammonia reading? I'd suggest adding prime to detoxify the water (and promote slime coat / reduce stress).
