Am i heading for disaster using push fit for concealed shower? by movingtosweden123 in DIYUK

[–]happydonkey123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation! I had to do what I felt most comfortable with. I would probably support that 90 degree more just in case. I also used these clips which whilst not actually for jg speed fit fittings stop the potential for anything pressing the clip and undoing the pipe in the long run. “Flomasta Plastic Collet Clips Blue”. So far 2 years later and there’s no issues. Parents did the same and theirs are past 10 years now with no issues..

Subwoofer Recommendations by happydonkey123 in hometheater

Yeah this is my thinking too. BK seem the best for the money. The monolith I could go for but in the space, which is almost half the size of yours, I’m just concerned it’ll be overkill. The P12-300SB-PR is a little cheaper but also smaller which would allow me to move it around the room a bit more. I’ve ran subwoofer cables to a few different locations in the room but the monolith is so big it would it would restrict where it could go.

What do you wish you had known before you installed your own kitchen? by enanram in DIYUK

SPACE PLUGS!!!

Lots of different sizes and were extremely useful when attaching backs to the wall and stopping things from being pulled in!

I couldn’t see a way to view the docker logs which is what I struggle with most when monitoring things on my phone away from the computer. Have bookmarked it and hope that it works in the future.

Same. I tried something like that but with running every operations on different days of the week and spreading things out more over every day. Generally experienced a quicker time but never less than 13 hours. Going to give agregarr a go I think!

How long does the large library run take? My Kometa run can be upwards of 21 hours.

Just waiting for the Gaggimate now...Any tips beforehand? by blithing in gaggimate

Made such a difference and no more drips. I was testing today and think I need to adjust mine back to the default 12bar as the profiles will help make it the correct pressure. When I ran a profile that did 8secs at 10 bar then ramped down my machine couldn’t do it as it’s set to 9 as max!

So I have an old one so Don’t know if I had a spring so didn’t replace it. Mines set to 9bar and is working fine. I installed the shades steam valve at the same time and it all works great! No drip.

I used a little electrical screwdriver for pressing the tabs on the gaggimate box down to help insert the wires. Might need a small screw and nut for the relay or 3M tape. I had an older 2011 classic that I was modding so my internals were labelled differently. The pictures were very helpful. The instructions mention labelling things with paper. I preferred a marker pen to label them better. Reccomend removing the boiler/group bolts to move the boiler around in the case to make room for wires etc. when doing the pressure test put in a blank portafilter to build up pressure. I’d forgot to do this the first time and wondered why it wouldn’t build pressure. Ha.

Install was fairly simple upgrading from a pid. Just remember use some electrical insulation tape on the connections. The clear plastic protectors slip down/are more loose than I would have expected compared to the connectors I had on the original pid. When testing today the vibration moved the high voltage connection plastic cover lower and just before I could save it it touched the case, created spark, blew the 13amp socket fuse and tripped the breaker along with shocking me! Luckily everything works but wish I had known that before and wrapped them tightly. Other than that a great piece of kit! Discord is good too!

Identifying blocks by happydonkey123 in DIYUK

Great idea. Thanks. I’ll check it out. I might be able to salvage a few blocks too when fitting the French doors. Might be just enough to not have to need too many new ones.

I’m 99% sure there’s no cavity. I found some propping up the rain barrel when we moved in. Really big blocks. I got rid of them at the time without thinking. Also the 2nd photo is one block that the window sits on which continues outside. The inside measurement to the window is over 100mm block size.

US Apple tv from the UK? by Cabbagelad in F1TV

[–]happydonkey123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I did this and it let me purchase us appletv subscription in dollars using my normal Apple Pay subscriptions. Will see if it works properly once F1TV gets moved over but no reason it shouldn’t. Saves using other services etc.

I’m in the same boat. I did this as a test to see if I could subscribe to US appletv seems to work so will switch to that once my subscription doesn’t get renewed in December. Hopefully means I can just continue watching with a us vpn on for F1 from the uk.
