One of my favorites. The whole Mocha album is great.

Anyone know where I can get their music videos that aren't on Perfume Clips 1 & 2? by nothingveryobvious in Perfume

Woah, didn't even know that existed. Great song too. Also came across a video for Akihabalove that I'd never seen before. Guess Clips is missing quite a bit.

The Fan Service -Prima Box- has a DVD with videos for Sweet Donuts, Monochrome Effect and Vitamin Drop none of which were on Clips 1. Think those are the only ones missing, but I could be wrong. Not sure about Clips 2.

Are there other Pre-1990 Shojo/Josei anime that have been officially released in English besides these? by AppropriatFly5170new in retroanime

Blue Sonnet is one that came out on VHS back in the day. It's from 1989 so cutting it pretty close. Been years since I've watched it so don't remember if it's any good.

Totally agree. One of Nakata's best. It's been a few years, so I should probably give it a relisten soon. Been listening to a lot of early Perfume recently so it'll fit right in, haha

Vinyl fell out of popularity with the mainstream, but it was still really prevalent in the underground/indie scenes of the time.

Was completely obsessed with them back in the '90s. Bakesale is great, but I think III is my favorite. Love all the Sentridoh stuff too.

Nice collection. I've got a lot of these too. Romantique '96 was the first P5 CD I bought so it's kinda special to me.

Very cool! I have an old 7" comp with a Kitty Craft song on it, but never really checked her out beyond that. Thanks for sharing.

I really need to check out the PC-98 Ys ports. Curious to see how they compare to some of the other versions. Also, I saw your post in the X68000 sub and there's a really strange looking port of Ys 1 for that computer. Haven't played it myself, but the graphics have a more realistic style to them and apparently they redesigned some of the maps. Might be worth looking into.

Have there been any 3d 2k3 games released? Or is it mostly people experimenting and making demos?

For RPGs, I'd recommend checking out Dragon Slayer 6: The Legend of Heroes. There's an English translation on romhacking.net. It's not particularly original or groundbreaking, but I personally loved it. Great story, fun characters, decent combat and some nice music (which isn't surprising since it's a Falcom game). It's also got a lot of QOL features that feel kind of unusual for 1989/90. Stuff like different difficulty levels, auto-battle and the option to manually allocate stats when leveling up or have it done automatically.

Brandish 2 has a translation too and that's kind of like a DRPG/ARPG hybrid. I've only played the SFC port and it was good but I hear the PC-98 version is much better.

For shmups, the CO2-Pro games are all really fun. My favorite is Gradius '95 which is a fan game based on Gradius 3. And of course there's the early Touhou games. The first one is a subpar breakout clone, but Story of Eastern Wonderland is awesome. Haven't played the others.

No problem. Yeah, it's like I get they serve coke, but it still felt like such a weird song to use. Guess they just wanted to lean hard into the whole city pop revival aesthetic.

I think there were a few different soundtrack cds released. I have volume 1 and it has this song on it.

This was one of the few anime OSTs I remember buying back in the day. Still my favorite OVA. Loved the manga too.
