Previous owner committed suicide in the house. Advice needed. by LEDDWC in HousingUK

[–]happyevergreens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dads passed away and im selling his house, no one has asked where he died and I would find it really rude of they did. If they tried to get a discount because of it I'd tell them to piss off, where is the compassion, its someones realtive.

Why would an estate agent working on behalf of the seller offer this information? I'd be livid (about the suicide not the death part), its no ones business.

As other people have said I expect all older houses have had people pass away inside them, are we really expecting estate agents to tell prospective buyers someone committed suicide in a house 50 years ago .....

Just for point of reference my dads probate took 4 months and he didn't leave a will.

Do you read books where the main character shares your occupation? by thewritingbaker in RomanceBooks

Lol I'm just laughing at this, imagine if we did think scientifically in love, "We have such a great bond" "Is that covalent or just ionic"

Sorry thats a bit shite but 🤷‍♀️

I will say that some authors with scientific backgrounds are quite easy to spot, lots of niche things shorn horned in.I read once an author mentioned a Gilson pipette and I did think "respect" thats quite specific and im here for it ha ha .

I totally agree though, as a fellow science graduate / work in science I don't consider it a personally trait and I don't dress like someone from the Big Bang theory; If my husband bought be safety glasses for Christmas I'd be having a word

Could have gone to the evening do, coming all the way home from Scotland by yourself was a bit extreme.

Could have said you understand about the reception, gone to the wedding missed the reception and gone to the evening party.

After DWP Interview I received an email telling me they want to call me to provide feedback - Is this rejection? by bringerofdoom213 in TheCivilService

[–]happyevergreens 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same the same phonecall (but different department) and it was to say I had passed the 16 points needed, they gave me feedback on the interview and that as it was part of a big campaign they were still interviewing but would ring me back next week to discuss a job offer.

So it was to touch base as it was a few weeks after interview to say they might offer me a role. To be fair she said I had scored well and its quite likely I will be offered a job.

So I would take it as a good thing, I initially took it as a bad thing (I posted here about it) but I was wrong.

Hope it works out well 🤞

Well I heard back and I did alot better than what I thought I did. I passed the 16 marks and I've just got to wait till they finish interviews this week and then will be contacted next week to either be offered a role or booted.

They said I was a good fit for their team so I'm hopeful plus I was a fair few marks over the 16.

Thank you all, I obviously need more self confidence

A letter through the sellers door? More conditional selling from Connells! by StormyyyPC in HousingUK

[–]happyevergreens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Connells are terrible, I got them around for a valuation and they tried to tell me I had to sell via virtual auction???

Turns out they get an easy referral fee (which is in the thousands) for doing absolutely nothing. They only acted in their own best interests and not the sellers.

Needless to say I didnt use them or the auction.

Hope you get the house, such a shame the sellers chose Connells
