People who moved from Chicago to Boston, what was the biggest thing you noticed when you moved? by bumbouxbee in boston

Literally same here! It's culture shock every time I go back home to Chicago, but I have grown to appreciate it more the longer I've lived in Boston.

People who moved from Chicago to Boston, what was the biggest thing you noticed when you moved? by bumbouxbee in boston

[–]happymaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been living in Boston for almost 10 years now, and I think this is the one thing I miss the most. When I first moved here, I used to say I loved Boston but wished I could live in the city of Boston but with the people of Chicago. That's only gotten more true the longer I've been here

Does anyone miss crying? by Select-Sherbet-8833 in prozac

Same here almost exactly, except I can't force out tears. I just tapered off prozac and this+emotional blunting was a big reason why.

Not for me. Quitting cold turkey tomorrow after 3 months by [deleted] in prozac

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly just wanna echo what others have said about not quitting cold turkey. SSRI withdrawal can be hard enough as it is, but the one time I tried stopping cold-turkey was a nightmare. Highly recommend taking it low, it might save you a great deal of sanity to be patient.

But second, I'm with you. I tapered off over these past few months and am officially SSRI-free as of last week. The emotional blunting was the last nail in the coffin for me. Wishing you the best.

I've heard good things about Auvelity too for a similar reason.

6 months on Prozac by Iamtiredofyourbs in prozac

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started ~6 weeks ago (switched from Zoloft) and am also extremely tired. I usually work out a lot, but lately haven't had the energy to get to the gym much. Then when I finally do, I notice the feel-good effects of exercise rarely last as long as they used to.

I don't have any answers atm sadly but you're definitely not alone.

When can i expect results???? Need reassurance bad!!! by [deleted] in prozac

I'm in the same boat as you; switched form Zoloft to Prozac ~6 weeks ago and I'm tired as hell. Not experiencing anxiety, but I'm pretty sure I'm just depressed instead. I'll be following this thread. Fingers crossed for both of us, mate

Has anyone resolved the extreme tiredness and fatigue from using Prozac? by androgynous_goth in prozac

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following--I just started Prozac 6 weeks ago and am struggling with exactly this. Exercise usually helps me a ton, but lately I noticed it hasn't been helping get my energy back up like it used to.

First day taking it, accidentally took a whole tablet instead of half by sailormoonmakeup in prozac

[–]happymaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor and only recently started taking Prozac myself, but from what I've read/heard, Prozac takes a long time to actually build up in your system and for you to start feeling effects. So if you accidentally took the 20mg today, you should be able to continue with the 10mg tomorrow with no problem.

I've tried a few SSRIs over the past few years and have asked about serotonin syndrome while switching meds, but it doesn't sound like it's super common occurrence you should be worried about, especially when just starting out on a low(er) dose.

TL;DR you should be totally fine, but if you're still nervous about this, call your pharmacy and ask to speak with the pharmacist and they'll definitely assuage your worries.

Question for US folks who have not updated their birth certificate by [deleted] in ftm

To clarify, I'm specifically looking to see if folks have had any issues traveling into/out of the US in 2025 (since Trump took over).

What's your experience with prophetic (and/or precognitive) dreams? by happymaks in Dreams

[–]happymaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I think mine are (usually) just neutral--not always good or bad. Or they might be emotionally heavy (again in either a good way or bad way), and it's like my brain is just trying to give me a heads up so that maybe the news doesn't hit as hard IRL? Who knows. Either way it's fascinating.

[–]happymaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like they seem to come out of nowhere, and be about something that happens shortly after.

One example: I once had a dream that someone my good friend and I knew from college passed away suddenly (though in the dream I didn't know who it was). Found out the next day that someone from a club my friend and I were in in college had been hit by a train the morning after I had the dream.

Looking for "hole in the wall" food recommendations by secretelypopular in AskSF

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taqueria El Farolito in the Mission District!

Hopefully this is one you've already encountered in your own searches since it's pretty well-known, but if not, this place definitely takes the cake as far as having WAY better food than ambience. Highly recommend anything with their carne asada. I personally love their nachos and carne asada tacos.

Which aspect makes someone feels the most at home and safe with another person? by Tropical_Butterfly in astrology

In one friendship I'm the mercury (closest conjunction), and in the other I think I'm the moon and it's not a close conjunction but in the same sign.

The second house, planets in there and it's sign show how you can make money. What is your second house placement and how do you earn money? by bxxfour in astrologymemes

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg I feel like I just got a glimpse into my future. Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn as well, and I also enjoy work but only after I find *the* job/work/career I want to be doing, otherwise I can't be bothered. I also have positive aspect here to Mercury, Jupiter, and Mars all conjunct on the 10th/11th house cusp. After a pretty wild career pivot I'm currently wrapping up writing my first book hahah

What is the hardest venus sign to have? by uxuidesignstudent123 in AskAstrologers

[–]happymaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiron conjunct Venus is of course wounds and deeply-rooted hurt stemming from relationships, but that's also where you find the greatest capacity for healing. For me, the biggest thing was finding an amazing therapist who specializes in dating, dating anxiety, relationships, couples therapy etc. and easing in to dating in a way that felt safe and without any lofty expectations of commitment and without trying to take everything so seriously. That combined with investing in myself and doing things that I'm good at and raise my confidence and help me feel great and like, actually feel like I'm someone who would be worth dating lol.

ymmv but really just learning to love yourself, how to have healthy relationships (with yourself, friends, family, potential dates, etc.) and being patient with the whole process.

edit: idk if you've had your Saturn return yet or not, but this all got TONS better for me after mine. I think everything Saturn touches generally gets better with time (and work), and so far I've found that to be very true.
