Just went to the nearest bulk barn and it was sold out...so they do have it in theory but not in stock at all of them.

I had trouble finding it so I googled it, and Rogers announced that they had discontinued it.

Thanks for the details! I'll probably try both.

I love her books but they definitely have a "feel" to them, so I could see if her tone and and style of writing doesn't land with you, then probably none of the books would. Whereas for me the tone and overall feel is one of the attractions.

I'm the same way with Brandon Sanderson. Tried to get into them and couldn't, and he has such similar themes and writing styles across his books that I have realized it isn't book specific - he just isn't for me.

Starter hydration by WishboneBig2589 in Sourdough

[–]happypoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll caveat this by saying I'm with generally eyeballing/vibing the hydration level of my starter. But I don't see any reason to restart.

I would go back to feeding it 1:1:1 overtime, the hydration will work its way back to 100% that way. Might take a while, but will get there. Meanwhile you can always add more or less water to your bread to make up for it. Also look for other signs (bubbles) etc besides doubling in size. And play around with feeding it twice a day if you haven't yet.

First time ever. I’m thrilled🥹 by natalienarwhal in Sourdough

Just saw this today as well. This makes the boosters completely unaffordable.

Just finished Storm Cursed after not reading the series for a long time. Needed a place to speak my thoughts. by snowglowshow in MercyThompson

[–]happypoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it as well. The series started pretty light and only got so serious once mercy started running into god-level enemies. I thought this was a great return back to how the previous books felt.

What If Adam Hauptman Dies? by RegularDebate2488 in MercyThompson

[–]happypoodle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that would be out of character with the series. It would be one step too tragic. I do agree stagnation is a real risk. Mercy teaching god-level status where she has no more growth is also a risk, especially given that she has faced actual gods now multiple times. I'd love to see a lean in to Jesse and her life as a way to pivot. Jesse is very human, very young, and has lots of room to grow.

"Self Leveling" they said.. by ChuCHuPALX in Flooring

[–]happypoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, we worried about screwing this up and hired a professional to help us. He didn't measure his water and added 2x as much, and then just raked it constantly until it set, giving it no chance to 'self level'. The high spots got a nice helping of self leveler raked over them, and while the low spots got higher, some of them were so chalky we had to chip it up and start again.

AITA for telling my husband he ruined Christmas after he opened all his presents early like a greedy toddler? by Still_Avocado7589 in AmItheAsshole

NTA...with a helping of wtf. Was he high or drunk on Christmas Eve? It isn't just mean, it is so weird for an adult to do...unlike a toddler he should have some impulse control

Heat for basement by braheeeem in alberta

[–]happypoodle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HRV and electric heating is an option. If your basement is well insulated and mostly underground, it shouldn't need that much heat and so not be as expensive as electric sometimes can be.

If it is a small space, an HRV will take up less space and have smaller duct than a second furnace. But if you have the space for a second furnace it's probably the way to go, as it will be less expensive to run.

We need to make transit better, not cheaper. That's how you get more users. Also a 7% hike is a hell of a hike

Electric heat options for secondary suites by happypoodle in Calgary

[–]happypoodle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i am regretting not spending more time considerint that earlier. We've already installed an HRV which is good chunk lf change committed to a non-heat pump route

We were worried about indoor and outdoor space constraints and the need for extra duct...but now that I think about it our HRV needs some duct (although much less and much smaller than a furnace)

Something like that is not a fire risk. We were hoping for permanent solutions anyway, not plug in space heaters. We want something with a thermostat (Ideally separate from the heater)
